Thank you, Linda

Tec will just have to keep his sisters in order :-D

I'm sure that Sue will still be speaking to you. I think she rather likes being a Page 3 girl ;-)

I rang Tec today. I just missed his daughter as she had gone home He was fine and will have his carers to look after him until Saturday when one of his sisters is arriving to stay for a week. His other sister is also coming for three days during the week. Poor Tec, I am not sure he was looking forward to having both of them there at the same time :-)

I went through everyone's messages and he asked me to thank everyone for their kindness. He wasn't well enough to see the Duchess yesterday, but his daughter went and said she was fine.

I hope Sue is still speaking to me :-D

Thank you everyone, I will make a toe of everyone's comments, so I don't forget anything when I talk to him or his daughter.

Just to clarify they have told him, that they can't give him any treatment apart from the palliative care, things just have to take their course. He doesn't want any intervention which would only delay the inevitable

I have been following your posts Linda (including the nasturtiums)

I, like all of us am upset about the news that there will be no improvement in Tec's health. I can understand his decision and respect him for it. I have enjoyed all his postings and even when I was away from the site he would often wave to me.

Whilst as Sylvia has said, we were expecting this but it is so very sad. I too count myself lucky to be your friend, and I am sorry that we were unable to see the Welsh sock it to the All Blacks.

Thinking of you and your daughter. I do hope they give you plenty of pain relief.

Love Lady Persie of Towyn. xx

Hello everyone ,

I have read the news regarding Tec and am saddened to know he has made this choice but I can understand that he has been through more than enough .
It is a comfort to know that he is back in his much loved " cave " , no doubt being lulled by the sound of his many clocks ticking .
My heart goes out to his daughter , I hope she is bearing up under the strain <3
If you get a chance Linda please pass on to him my love , he has been a dear friend over the years , much loved , I know by all of us .

Hi everyone,

I am so sorry to read this latest news about our Tec, sad and gutted too :-(

I do understand that he's had enough and even though I want to be selfish and say to him to fight on - I understand when someone says enough! <3

You are a very special man Tec and I count myself very lucky to be your friend <3

Carole.

It is a shame you didn't get to meet Tec, Brenda - he's a true gentleman. However you have spoken to him on the phone so you will know that he has a wonderful sense of humour and loves a chat.

Linda will definitely keep us up to date with Tec's news as always <3

Sue,
Since meeting you and talking about Tec so fondly,I started to call him occasionally and I think he enjoyed the chats about various places we knew well as I used to live in that area.
I had planned to take him for lunch to a lovely hotel on the estuary that we both loved.

Unfortunately that never happened as soon afterwards he had all the problems and hospital visits.

Although he was in pain,he stayed positive.
I do feel for him,and his daughter who has a lot to cope with in looking after him,and the worry of her mother too.

I'm sorry I never got to meet him,and do hope he can stay as comfortable as possible.

Will rely on Linda to give us updates..

I have been trying to find words to describe how I feel since hearing this news.....I can't. Tec is so dear to us all and I know we are all feeling sad at the moment.

His daughter is going through a dreadful time and my thoughts are with her. She also has the worry of her mother too.

I too understand Tec's decision. I think a group hug is what we need <3

Hello all,

Jem let me know about Linda's news re Tec.

The news is very sad indeed, but knowing what Tec has been through recently his decision is understandable.

I'm pleased to hear that he still retains his sense of humour which he has kept despite all his many problems.

Linda, please would you pass on my best regards when you next contact Tec or his daughter

Just to let everyone know that Tec is back home .I will respect his privacy by only saying that sadly our wonderful friend is ill and won't be getting better. He is not in any pain and is being well cared for. I had a short chat with him and he was his usual humorous self

It is very hard to hear such news, but as he said, the last couple of years have been horrible, so he has had enough and doesn't want anymore intervention.

He has carers coming in twice a day, but his daughter is going to be there for most of the time.. Because of the stroke he can't write, and has trouble reading, so wont be able to come back to the thread, unless maybe his daughter types for him.

I will ring and talk to his daughter a couple of times a week and when he is well enough, to him. I have passed on all the news, he winced at news of your toes Shaun. He can't talk for long, as it is tiring, so his daughter asks if people could communicate through me please

we've had lovely weather since we got back .................... sunny, blue skies, temps in the mid-teens, but it feels warm. We've had fog in the early mornings ... typical for Fall.

It is supposed to change for tomorrow, with showers.

Tomorrow is also the start of the weekend Apple Fest at the Garden, and OH is on duty all day Saturday and on Sunday afternoon.

He'll have to be sure to have his wet weather gear with him!

I didn't see the twins yesterday as they were upstairs asleep all the time I was there, I got to play cars with the two year old instead

I am having a lazy morning as OH has gone off to the cinema to do his tasks. i have Meals on wheels to deliver later on.

It s really autumnal here now Sue. The laves are all trning and falling off the trees, then going slushy in the rain :-(

Hello :-D

Nice to see you back Sylvia - you have been missed :-). Apart from the horrible delay it sounds like you both had a great holiday.

Linda - it's nice to hear the little ones are coming along well.

Very hot here and so humid. Even Hobart has been hot and that's unusual for this time of year.
