Hello :-)

I thought I might try few sentencis - please excuse spelling etc.

I do try to keep up with your posts - but tire quickly. So today looks like a good day.
Linda calls for a chat once a week so kind of her to keep in touch in that way. I really do miss taking part - but it is comforting to know that you are all there, and I have not been forgetten.

I am coping quite well. The Care ladies call twice a day. They do the little things that I find difficult tike changing the bed.
Melanie is here twice most weeks for an overnight stay. She does my shopping etc.
The nurse calls twice a week. Everyone is so kind, and helpful

.
I have not seen Sylvia foe weeks, Melanie visits her most weeks, but I would like to see her. She doesn't ask about me anymore. Perhaps that a good thing.
I try not to thinking about things too much.

Well my dear friends, it has taking ages to write this, but I am pleased to have accomplished

Stellan cant be one, it is no time at all since he arrived.

I am waiting for some relations from my dads side of the family to arrive. They are passing on the way to a hotel break and are bringing lots of family photos for me to copy

I was looking at my family photos last night and I made a big breakthrough. My mum always swore that her grandmother died when she was about ten, I could never find the death. Then last night I saw the supposedly dead grandmother on a photo of my mothers wedding! That meant she had to be on the 1939 register, so I searched for her and found her. She was living with two people I didn't know. I paid for the image and you get the whole page. Bingo all the family lived in a row of cottages next to each other, so I got the whole lot in one go. The people she was living with turned out to be her married grandaughter

I remember when women's trousers were called slacks, and the zip was in the side. We call them trousers, pants, what ever... but I think if I saw where one had had to change ones pants I would think they meant their undies, knickers. bloomers or as in my mother's day they had scanties and now of course they have thongs....

then there are those that wear thongs on their feet but we call them jandals.

Glad to hear that Tec was wanting to feed the fish. Good to read of you talking with him Linda...

I will message you and Sue later with this brown, brown, brown house it is now on the internet.

One more month and Stellan will be a year old. Not sure when we will be going down to Wellington again. Off to Auckland to my cousins next Sunday to meet her grandson, he was born early August and his name is Hugo. It's her first grandchild (she is a couple of years younger than me).

We all know you and garden centres Sue :-D

Eve is most miffed because she didn't see her grandpa and daddy on television in the Remembrance day parade. They were in the Royal Naval bit of the March They did mention them, but they cut away to Horseguards parade just as they were going through, so we didn't get to see them

SueMaid Report 8 Nov 2015 10:55

Trousers? Pants? We say pants.....and undies :-D

We've had a busy week so today (Sunday) we went for a leisurely drive up the mountain to a very nice garden centre where I...erm...indulged in a couple or more new plants. Tec will be proud of me :-) We also had morning coffee with homemade scones, jam and cream. Then we drove back down the coast road - always a nice scenic drive.

Hope everyone is well and coping with everything the weather is throwing your way. Warm, wet and very humid here.

We have been watching the service of remembrance from the Royal Albert Hall

It is the big parade in London tomorrow. eve's other grandad is walking in the parade as a navy veteran. He needs someone to walk with him as he is ninety and has dementia. His wife cant walk with him,so Eve's daddy is doing it. There is a strict dress code, so he has had to go out and buy a black coat.We will see if we can spot them on the TV tomorrow

Linda ........... that was the best way to watch the fireworks :-)

and that storm over Sydney was certainly dramatic!!

It is also pouring down here, and we are under a heavy rain watch.

We went to the Mall to get a couple of things. OH parked the car as close as he could to one of the entrances, we had to walk less that 50' .................... I had to change my pants when I got in!

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 7 Nov 2015 19:25

We have just watched the very impressive town fireworks display. They have moved it to the racecourse and the actual fireworks were only about three hundred yards from the house. We had an uninterrupted view of them from one of the bedroom windows

All without having to go out, a bonus for us

LindainHerriotCountry Report 7 Nov 2015 11:55

What a dreadful day, the rain is pouring down. I had to change my trousers when I got back from the market as they were so wet

I saw the video of the big storm in Sydney Sue, it wa s very dramatic

LindainHerriotCountry Report 6 Nov 2015 13:34

I had a word with Tec this morning. He was fine, but bemoaning the rain as he wanted to feed his fish

His daughter was there, they had been to Aberwstwyth hospital yesterday, but he said it had been a total waste of time

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 5 Nov 2015 09:54

I don't know what it was Sue, it looked like a white splinter, but there is nothing to see on the kitchen floor My foot is fine, but my knee is wobbly. I almost threw a cup of coffee over the computer when I sat down, as my knee went sideways. There isn't much stability in it sat the best of times

I suppose it was worth reviewing your meds Sylvia even if you did get wet.

It has been raining all night and has just stopped for a while. I need to walk into the market square as I have to make a cake for this evening. It is bonfire night and we are going to the annual cinema bonfire party which is always held on the chairman's farm. I am surprised that they haven't cancelled it as the rain is due to be hammering down all day.

I should have checked what ingredients I needed before last night, then I wouldn't have needed to walk as OH is off with the car. I didn't know I was going to aggravate my knee then of course

SueMaid Report 5 Nov 2015 08:39

To be fair Persie - I thought the All Blacks deserved to win :-)

What on earth did you stand on ,Linda :-0 I hope your knee and foot feel so much better after a good night's sleep.

Well that's 30 minutes you won't get back, Sylvia.

It has rained almost nonstop here for the last 3 days. We had to drive to a suburb south of Sydney to see our solicitor. It rained all the way there and all the way back :-(

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 5 Nov 2015 00:42

oh dear xxx

Hope the pain soon goes away

Both OH and I were at the docs today ............. getting our flu shots. But the doc then asked me if I would be willing to discuss and review the prescriptions I have with a pharmacist.

so that made the appointment about 30 minutes longer than we had planned!

AND, there was no change in the prescriptions :-(

to add to it ........... it was raining when we came out :-(

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 4 Nov 2015 23:02

Bah, I just walked into the kitchen in bare feet and felt a sharp pain as something went into my foot. I hobbled to OH walking on the side of my foot so I wouldn't push it in any further.,
He couldn't see anything, but I was sure it was there, so eventually I managed to bend my bad knee round far enough.. I saw it straight away and got it out. My foot is better, but my knee hurts now, so you can't win

Well done Linda and family, you certainly make an all out effort for Halloween. My youngest and her friends dressed up, she did look rather weird though and himself was asking how she was going to get the colours out of her hair.

I have only ever bothered with Halloween one year, otherwise it has been bah humbug.

My commiserations to the Lostralians.. I think our guys must have been psyched up for it. The referee probably helped as well.

Looked at more houses on Sunday and the Sunday before and last Thursday we went to a previewing afternoon with our agent (hasn't been advertised yet) Lovely home built in 1984 brick, decent sized lounge and dining. One level though it does have two or three carpeted steps inside the front door in the foyer to climb.. I can manage... but I never seen so much brown. Dark brown doors, kitchen cupboards and even the skirting boards were brown. It still had the same wallpaper and carpet from when it was built. Only had the one lot of owners... arggh that carpet. I will send you link when it comes on market.. I am in two minds about it. It has two bathrooms next to each other one with a bath and one with a shower and a separate toilet and another loo in the garage part... I am still thinking on this one as to what we would need to do to bring it into this century.

Boy, was I pleased when it was done. The fog was fine, but the first appointment which was supposed to be quick, took two hours, so it was four and a half hours altogether, which I hadn't been expecting
