Poor Sylvia, that sounds painful, I hope they can sort it out soon. I am pleased that you can get to see your friend over the holidays

Thank you for the update on Tec ..... please give him my love when you next talk.

I've been given the all clear to go to the Island tomorrow ..... thank goodness! Our friend is in palliative, and it doesn't look like she will come out. But she has all kinds of jobs that she intended to do, so we are being handed some of those.

The doctors think I have a stomach ulcer, but can handle it as long as I am careful, eat bland food and keep hydrated ............ plus the town on the Island has an excellent hospital (according to my doctors). Then they will make arrangements for further tests in the New Year. So far, all the blood and liver tests have come back normal or well into normal ............ so that is comforting!

i just spoke to Tec, he has a chest infection, so is short of breath. he is on the fifth day of his antibiotics, but he didn't think they were helping,so he was going to ring the doctor again after we spoke.

He was busy wrapping presents, but said that he was making a dogs dinner of it :-)
His daughter, son in law and granddaughter are spending Xmas with him.

He asked me to wish everyone a Merry Christmas

Good to see you Amanda, I have visions of you disappearing under a mound of wrapping paper as you try to sort out all the presents with the little ones helping you :-D

Thank you girls. I had already got a priority list, but other things popped up that I felt I could fit in. I will just have to be tougher about accepting requests next year, until I have caught up with everything.

Hello Sylvia , yes the babies are all getting along well , thank you . Poppy-Rose was one yesterday :-0 she will be walking any day soon . The twins are both hauling themselves up on any available piece of furniture but they are prone to falling over and banging their bald heads ( which look extra vulnerable because of being bald I suppose ) .
I hope all is well in your world x

Hi Amanda

Linda ...........

we've only ever really won one thing ............... a small globe of the moon back in early 1968 at a County Fair in Texas

and that led us into the expense of buying a set of Encyclopedia Brittanica plus bookcase.

The bookcase is very nice :-)

Huia

sorry that you have got so stressed.

Have a good rest over the next 3 weeks, and, as Linda said, look at prioritizing what you have to do and what you want to do. xxxx

Ooh, just had a phone call to say that I have won a prize on one of those advent calander competitions which you see on Facebook. This one was Saga holidays and I have won an all inclusive week for two in Italy

It is a beach hotel in the Puglia region It gets an absolute pasting on Trip advisor, so normally I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole, but if it us free, I am sure it will be fine. The Saga holiday seems to include a full day and a half day trip as well

It is on a set date in May and from Gatwick which is not handy, but by chance we will come back two days before half term, so I would be going down to collect Eve for half term in any case

It sounds like you need the break Huia, then you need to prioritise what is important to you and what can wait for a while. Being stressed out won't do you any good and you can get to a stage when you don't do anything to the standard you want to.

I hope you manage to have a nice Christmas

Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year, from Kiwiland.

I had a stressful afternoon in the Hospice shop this afternoon. One of the customers brought some things to the counter and waited until I had almost finished putting them through the till, then wandered off to look at more things, so I put her lot on "park", except that I pressed the wrong button and after trying to sort it out had to ring for the boss to come and do it (while other customers were waiting), then the first customer came back with more things, expecting to be dealt with first, but I said I was serving another customer. Then I made another mistake. This happened about 4 times and the last time the boss came to sort it out I just walked away, out to the back room, in case I said something rude to the customer, or burst into tears. I must remember to apologise to the boss for walking out on her like that, although at the end of the afternoon I did mention how stressed I was feeling. I now have 3 weeks break to try to recover my unstressed state. Anyway, please dont expect any Christmas cards from me. I feel I have been trying to do too much this year, and getting behind with my list of to-do things.

Dont worry, I am feeling much happier having got that off my chest.
