Hello everyone :-)

I'm sorry to hear about your friend, Sylvia. A peaceful end is all you can hope for <3

Happy Birthday Huia - I hope you have a quiet but nice day.

Are you feeling better Linda? The damp can't be good for your chest - better stay indoors. I can't believe that Sylvia spoiled your loaf of bread :-|

Hello Tec - why do all the bad people have to be sent to Australia :-|

Hot and humid here. Not pleasant but it is summer so expected.

How odd, I am sure I posted on here to wish Huia a happy 80th birthday for today, but I can't see it

Happy birthday again Huia

It is indeed .............. we were worried that she might die alone, and that was not what we wanted, despite all her definite wishes for privacy.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 10 Jan 2016 21:52

That is reassuring to know Sylvia

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 10 Jan 2016 21:16

Indeed, we can only respect her wishes.

Our other friend has emailed saying that the Centre is excellent, and that she will not be left alone .... there will always be someone with her, nurse, doctor or volunteer.

I am sorry about your friend Sylvia It is good that she is sleeping peacefully and that it is happening quickly. She has obviously said her goodbyes, so you can only respect that.

SylviaInCanada Report 10 Jan 2016 20:25

I think we are nearing the end for our friend.

She is now sleeping all the time, except when the nurses are actually doing things for her.

She has also insisted that the doctors put out a No Visitors call.

We were thinking of going over there next weekend to be with her, but ...............

LindainHerriotCountry Report 9 Jan 2016 23:12

You are so kind, just tip it out onto the cooling rack on the worktop please

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 9 Jan 2016 22:56

I'll just jump on my broom and be there in a tick :-D :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 9 Jan 2016 22:21

I will watch TV in bed until it is ready. I could leave it in the machine, but if you don't take it out, the steam makes it go soggy when it goes cold in the machine

Or you could get it out for me as your time zone is behind ours :-)

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 9 Jan 2016 22:13

so you will be staying up late, and watching junkie movies on the TV????

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 9 Jan 2016 21:50

I like lamb as well, much tastier than beef, probably due to all of the fat in it of course

Bah, I forgot to make a loaf earlier on, so there would be no bread for the bacon sarnies in the morning. It is cooking now, but it will be after midnight before it finishes

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 9 Jan 2016 21:28

actually .............. I'm not worrying!

strange, but I really am not.

I've had 2 different kinds of breast cancer and 2 different kinds of skin cancer!

I just have to be careful what I eat because it makes me uncomfortable, and I don't like that feeling.

but, oh, a bland diet can be so boring!!

and lamb is off the menu ........... I love a lamb roast!!

Stop worrying Sylvia, although I know you wont . It is such a wide spectrum, so hopefully it wont be bad. I do hope you get seen quickly so that you can set your mind at rest

Hi everyone

it's sunny here, but it was foggy at daybreak.

The doctor said they are going to ask for an urgent appointment for me .........

The specialist I saw 12-14 years ago has retired. :-(

I asked about seeing the one OH has been going to for the last 10 years, but he apparently has one of the longest waiting lists in the province ....... not surprising, he's good but also has a good "bedside manner".

They are going to see if he will take me on an "urgent" basis because of the connection with OH.

If not, then they will go with someone else.

Waits here can be long as well, so I'm hoping it won't be too long.

They said they want to check everything from the possibility of bacterial infection (presumably that helicobacter pylori) to cancer (faint possibility).

But I'm feeling pretty good ........... although I ate too much last night :-(
