Hello Sylvia,

We rarely get snow here on the coast, although they get deep snow every winter just ten miles away inland.
Only had one heavy snowfall in eighteen years, that year there was even snow on the beach, but we have been cut off several times by heavy snow all around us.
The village was isolated for three weeks one year.

The sheep don't appreciate it anymore than I do :-D

Glad to see that you have arrived safely in deepest Shropshire. I know where you are, and old haunt of mine - lovely area.
Been a nice crispy sunny day here - cold as the sun went down so I too have a fire.
Have fun :-)

Greetings from deepest Shropshire. The weather is a bit different from when we were here with you Sue. We have A roaring log fire going, so it is very cosy.

We are only staying one night, then we can get home and that will be the end of our gallivanting for a while

Hi Sue, and everyone

It poured with rain all day yesterday, all night, and most of today (Monday) :-(

However, I shouldn't complain too much ......... the rest of BC has been coping with snow and freezing rain, and 3 of the major roads in the eastern part of the province were closed this morning because of avalanche conditions .............. most of the roads go through at least one range of mountains before actually getting to the Rockies!

Amanda .......... I haven't read back, so I'm a bit behind. Is Poppy your newest granddaughter??

Just to say, that any committee that I have been on, the Treasurer has handled all money dealings .................. unless the position was officially called Secretary-Treasurer.

Goodnight Tec <3

Any committee I've been on has had a treasurer who deals with all money matters. As secretary it may be a good idea for you to speak to the president and have a meeting to clarify everyone's position.

Tecwyn Report 5 Jan 2015 23:28

Amanda,

Just popped back to say that any committee I've ever served on it has been the treasurers responsibility to deal with anything financial, including collecting fees/subs etc, and banking them.

The Secretary doesn't usually handle anything financial.

Goodnight again :-)

Good night Tec , I shan't be far behind you and shall have dreams of my plush office ........lol

Have a good day Sue , whatever you are doing today x

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 5 Jan 2015 23:23

and a huge oak desk, with a red telephone hot line to the allotment manager :-D

Well I must go to bed now,

Enjoy your day Sue,

Sleep well Amanda,

Goodnight,
Tec :-)

LOL well you two are a tonic :-) There is a treasurer Sue but I'm not actually sure what it is that she does ? One of my main responsibilities is to collect the money and get it paid into the bank ( apparently ) . I can always lock it away in OHs gun cabinet until I've got enough to warrant a trip to the bank .

Tec , I like the sound of the office you have conjured up there , sure beats a polytunnel with a leak , a wonky plastic garden table and weird collection of fold up chairs . Not to mention the plastic bucket in the shed toilet facilities :-0

Poppy is getting on very well thank you . I haven't seen much of her to be honest but did notice that she has the deepest blue coloured eyes that I've ever seen :-)
All four of my kids have brown eyes and yet , of the nine Grandchildren only one has deep brown eyes , strange isn't it :-S

And a magnificent marble fireplace to keep you warm :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 5 Jan 2015 23:13

Hello Amanda - Happy New Year :-D

That bug you have is hanging about - sitting in a polytunnel won't help :-(

You deserve a better office than that - oak panelled walls, deep red carpet , .executive toilet facilities :-D

How is little Poppy?

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 5 Jan 2015 23:12

Hello Amanda - I'm sorry you are still not feeling well :-( Hope you pick up soon <3

Don't you have a treasurer to deal with the money? It's a shame you don't have a proper office then you could have a locked box for the fees to be put into.

Tecwyn Report 5 Jan 2015 23:09

I know what you mean Sue, sometimes wish I could turn the clock back to the happiest times of my life.

Then I think how good it is to see my daughter in a happy marriage, and grand daughter doing well at uni, and to see what a lovely young lady she has turned out to.

Life is strange with all its twists and turns that we have no control over., but I try only to think of the positives, and not dwell on the negatives.

You have such a lovely little family, and that must bring you much happiness and satisfaction. :-)

Blast it :-| I just typed out a long post and lost it when I pressed the wrong button ......grrrr

I hope you are all keeping well . I'm still down with this cough and nasty virus thing . I think I'm losing my voice to top it all :-|

I've been collecting the site fees on the allotments . We have made a make shift " office " in the polytunnel . That way I stand a fighting chance of not losing paperwork by having it blown out of the brief case ......lol
Every time we go up there someone or other is after me to pay their fees , it's a bit like being hunted :-0

I still haven't worked out how to access my e-mails on this new pc , I think I may have to create a new e-mail account .

Yes I know the song - very apt :-D

How life changes Tec. Over Christmas I was reminiscing about when our children were young and what fun we had as a family. Now we see our children enjoying their families - good to see but it makes me a little wistful at times.

I have found myself in some quite bizarre situations this year. :-D

Fortunately, I have a good sense of humour,

There is a song that you may be familiar with that I often sing to myself

" If they could see me now" not sure if that's the title :-D

Sue - when you try making the bed on one leg, prepare to find yourself rolling about on your back trying to tuck the other side in :-D :-D :-D

I was laughing at my predicament at one stage - glad it wasn't on camera :-D
