Linda, Sue did say she wouldn't be on today due to interviews.

Persie, everything is so instant now, including world news.

Unlike the ancient days when we relied on the radio and newspapers.

I am going to turn in and watch Newsnight in bed.

All the beds were comfortable enough while we were away, but I am looking forward to being in my own tonight.

Tec , it does make one wonder about the future and what else technology will bring to the generations that come to be , yet in my mind , I think the "real " world is still the one that grows and feeds us etc . I hope that at least some of the future folk will be gardeners :-)
I still have geraniums in flower in the greenhouse , they must be as dry as bones out there . I shall have to give them a drink tomorrow and think of dear Berona whilst I'm about the task .

I split the plant into two Tec, the other one is in the study, but it hasn't flowered. I think it is probably too dark for it

You can go outside Tec, just not on windy days please.

Communication is amazing, someone had come up with faxes long before they actually started using them. We thought they were great..

and there in my old teleprinter (telegraph) operating room down the back were all the switchboards and when a station went down and you could not reach it the older guys would go be down the back doing dashes and dits on the Morse code.

Linda it's good that the plant has flowers, but can you explain to it that it's supposed to have a stalk :-D

Amanda there is signs of life in my garden too. The snowdrops are up, but not in flower, and other bulbs are showing.

There are flowers in the front garden that gets all the winter sun. Some geraniums are still flowering. The winter pansies are the best I've ever had, and look very cheerful.

That is true Amanda - the world has shrunk in so many ways, like we all live in one big village.

Communication is amazing. The face that we can "talk" to each other miles apart, and even on the other side of the world.

I often wonder how things will be in 20 years time - very exciting times for today's children.

I think Spring is springing already , I noticed catkins swinging in the hedgerows earlier today ! and I have one snowdrop valiantly standing in the back garden :-)

Persie it amuses me that objects and artefacts that were around when I was young are now to be seen in antique shops - maybe I should join them. :-D

I vaguely remember my youth, I was skinny with long legs and very short skirts :-D :-D

Good that you are getting to grips with your new shiny computer.
I'm still finding my way round my tablet.
That was sent back to Poland, for repair, but it turned out to be the charger, that I suspected in the first place :-(

I think I will stay safely in the house until Spring is sprung :-D

My youth had now become history and antiques and museum curiosities or disappeared in a scrap heap somewhere.

The inventions of our youth are nearly all under the ground as landfill, or became scrap metal etc

As I have mentioned when my daughter was doing History at high school and the subject was Vietnam War.. I laughed and said that was my current events.

You should be able to add extra email accounts to your computer Amanda, so you can check all your accounts in one place
