Goodnight Linda - Hope your techie turns up tomorrow - sleep well.

Now we are forecast, gales, heavy snow, and ice - oh what fun. :-(

That is a shame Amanda, I thought such things were usually covered when out of the home

I am off now, so will say goodnight

Hopefully, now that the sheds have been through that will be the end of it, especially if it was an opportunist spree.
I suppose the sheds are an easy target.

Glad to see that your daughter is a little better Sue.

I think that knives and such like are certainly a target thing :-(

I hope your daughter is feeling better Sue . Is she down with the flu or such like ? it has been rife here .

Will the camera be covered on your house insurance?

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 12 Jan 2015 22:31

Amanda - There shouldn't be cash on the site, it should go straight to the treasurer - not nagging - just saying :-D

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 12 Jan 2015 22:30

That is very true ( sadly ) Tec :-(

Hello Amanda - my thoughts were the same. The knife in the wrong hands is quite worrying.

My daughter is feeling much better Linda thank you. I popped in for a little while to make sure she was resting. The children were playing quietly.......and my daughter was vacuuming :-|

When we had our shed broken into a while back, the only things taken were two knives, one was a machete type. It wasn't very sharp, but was useful for hacking roots off cabbages etc.

Tecwyn Report 12 Jan 2015 22:29

I know what you mean about the knife Amanda - but if they want a knife they will get one. Yours is just one more.
Almost everyone has something in their garden shed that could become an offensive weapon in the wrong hands.

Hello Linda ,

OH has already fixed the doors and fortified them with metal bars , so hopefully they will hold if it happens again . Silly thing is , one of the other sheds had an envelope with rent money in it , in full view on a bench but the louts missed it ! Good job they did , if they realised that at this time of the year there could be cash floating around on the site they would certainly be back :-(

Amanda2003 Report 12 Jan 2015 22:25

It did cross our mind and that of just about everyone else that it could be the revenge of the maniac but then again it could just be paranoia :-S

We just have to carry on regardless .

Losing the camera is awful but in my mind it's the knife that worries me more , the thought that some idiot youth is mooching about with that weapon and probably thinking " he's the man ! "

:-| :-|

Oh dear Amanda, that is very unlucky. Can you repair the doors easily?

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 12 Jan 2015 22:20

Hello Sue - We are unusual people :-D you surely realised

Hello Amanda - Oh dear, what a nuisance. Could it be the maniac you had problems with?
Sorry to hear that you lost the camera, as well as damaged door.

Landmines are quite effective :-D

Amanda2003 Report 12 Jan 2015 22:15

Good evening Linda and Tec ,

it sounds as if you are both having problems , what with the leaking chimney and broken internet . I hope you can both resolve your issues soon .

We had a load of break ins on the allotments Thursday night / Friday morning . Ten sheds in all where either broken into or attempted , including mine ( the doors where kicked right in ) . We are the only ones that had stuff stolen , the wildlife camera ( which we had NEVER left in the shed up until that fateful night ) and a very large sheaf knife ( 14inch blade , looks like a small cutless ) .
The other sheds involved had been rifled through but nothing was taken .
I had to spend all day Friday seeing two different sets of police and showing them all the sheds etc .
I'm not holding my breath about anything coming of it :-|
I think more barbed wire is the order of the day !!
