My neighbour works close to where your OH came from Sue, she had trouble getting home tonight because she said the snow was bad there

I was wondering who would wear a Joey pouch :-) should imagine they get quite heavy eventually

Persephone Report 13 Jan 2015 22:06

We don't have sky here but have the dish.. and the reception here is really bad.. often recorded programs are only half recorded.. or all of a sudden we get no signal and OH has to reset everything.. a week or so ago the picture was going fuzzy and the speech was on speed with lots of rice bubble crackling.

We got hold of the TV man and he came around.. and said hmm if I knock a few branches off the tree out front you should be okay.. so OH gave him the Swedish saw and he cut through in no time and he said he would send the account to the landlords (government).

We still lose signal but it's not the tree, it's just the terrible reception that Huntly has and because we are down on the flat bit it is even worse.

Good Morning Sue,

Going by my daughter's caustic comments I fear most of my belongings will end up in the skip - in which case I shall come back to haunt her. :-D

Persie I noticed your lonely I......Poor thing :-)

Hello Sue, I can just imagine you walking around with a little joey in a pouch on your front.

I don't think the trainee was up to speed yet, she was far too gentle :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 13 Jan 2015 21:59

Glad you've found what you want Persie.

I have never been in the habit of falling asleep in my chair - so it must be lack of sleep. Usually gone 4am before I nod off - then I oversleep :-(

13 schools closed today not far South of here today due to heavy snowfall - more forecast tomorrow with hail, and thunderstorms - nice

Hello everyone :-)

Oh dear Tec - you are a worry :-(

Our local doctors surgery has a program where they have young doctors do some work experience. You can refuse to see the trainees. They always check with a "real" doctor but it seems to work well. They do look very young.

I'm aware there is very little that my family want when we are gone. However there are a couple of things that belonged to my late FIL that my OH now has. My eldest son has asked for them when the time comes.

Rollo - the charitable organisation that I work with has a sewing group and the ladies have started making little pouches for the orphaned joeys. They look like peg bags :-D

Do you think Physios abide by the motto be cruel to be kind?

Persephone

Persephone Report 13 Jan 2015 21:55

I wonder what that

I is doing at the bottom of my post..... must be a stick figure that wandered in.... looks harmless.. though is legless as well.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 13 Jan 2015 21:54

It would teach them not to hurt you again

" Watch that one - she bites" :-D

I have found a NZ supplier now Tec in souvenirs.. (sp.. though I think I might be right .. silly word)

I see the ones that pop out like a little umbrella.. in fact OH's aunt had one.. I chucked it.

My dad would often go to sleep in his chair Tec.. even when I was a little girl he would do that. He did do shift work, so I guess he could sleep anywhere anytime if need be.

I don't think you are really allowed to bite physio's Tec, it is rather frowned on

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 13 Jan 2015 21:50

I do take pain killers before going to bed, but they don't do much.

Those covers I was thinking of are only small - to cover sugar bowls - cream or milk jugs etc.
The ones my daughter uses have a circle of pretty fabric with a circle of beads sewn around them to weigh them down onto the item.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 13 Jan 2015 21:49

They were the ones I was thinking of Tec, they gave several different sizes of pop up ones. Try googling food covers Persie

Tecwyn Report 13 Jan 2015 21:45

Linda - Sorry that the physio hurt you. You should have bitten him back, that would make him more careful.

I had a trainee physio work on me in hospital - she was ruthless.
I guess they have to practice on someone.

Persie - You can get those tea showers things here, at a firm called Lakeland.
If you can't find them I will get them and send them.

You can still buy individual net covers to go over a plate of sandwiches etc, but I have never seen something which covers the whole table

LindainHerriotCountry Report 13 Jan 2015 21:40

Oh dear Tec, I assume your ulcer is stopping you from sleeping

When my knee was really bad, I wasn't sleeping well at night, so I fell asleep on the sofa most afternoons. I have stopped doing that now. My knee is very sore tonight, so I must remember to take some pain killers before I go to bed

Passports can be replaced, bit of a ruddy nuisance though, but unless papers are on disc or computer back up stick that can be sticky..

Photos are one thing I would absolutely hate to lose en route to anywhere.. and really should have them all on disc instead of just a few. Plus there are a few heirlooms I would hate to see go astray.

My youngest rang yesterday to see if I minded them getting rid of a blanket box I gave them for August's toys etc.. I thought it would be useful even if SIL ended up using it as a tool box. There little two bedroom place does not have a lot of space and once Stellan is out of his carry bassinet thing and moved to a cot there will be even less room. I don't mind, I do notice that possessions move in and out quite quickly in their homes.. They upsized once when renting and bought stuff to fill the house then bought a house and because it was so much smaller they then had to sell or give away a lot. I am of the other ilk and keep nearly everything.. though this move did entail a lot of visits to the charity shops with stuff.. I still have 4 dining tables LOL..

But she did say to me that there was one thing she would like of mine and that was this netting thing you throw over the food on the dining table to keep it insect free.. I said it is called a tea-shower .. I have two of my mothers, I just hope I have them packed away and that they did not go to the op shop with table cloths and all these embroidered doilies etc. If you look up tea-shower it talks about parties.... My daughter says you can't get them.. I can probably make one if need be.

Fell asleep again after my dinner :-(

Trouble is I'm not sleeping well at night, so I only have to settle in my armchair...........and I'm gone.
