Fish and chips down by the ocean sounds nice Sue, but not on our beach today :-D

I cannot imagine life without the internet :-0

The lights just flickered - oh no

It was a good job, my nice neighbour didn't mind me logging in to theirs as I had used most of my free mobile phone data over Christmas. I couldn't do without my internet

The weather promises to be hot, humid and thundery. We had fish and chips down by the beach with my daughter, SIL and family yesterday evening. Its a very nice area with picnic tables and views of the ocean. It was also cool so very refreshing.

It's good that you have your internet sorted Linda.

That's brilliant Linda, and all without suffering that nice gentleman in India :-D

Good Morning Sue,

What's your weather doing today?

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 15 Jan 2015 20:57

Yes, my phone line was fixed last night Tec, I think someone had been working in the main box which feeds our house and had snapped our cable. That is probably why a BT man turned up while we were out on Monday afternoon to fix a fault I hadn't even reported then. When we weren't in, he just went away and left us disconnected

Hello Sue, you wouldn't like this horrible weather

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 15 Jan 2015 20:53

Well Done Linda :-) mission accomplished.

Am I to assume that all the trauma's with your internet connection are over?

What a clever little BT man he was, with his box of tricks :-D

SueMaid Report 15 Jan 2015 20:52

Hello :-D

The weather sounds atrocious so you both do well to stay out of it when possible.

I'm glad you got your prescription sorted Tec - what a kerfuffle :-(

The pub sounds very nice - I'm glad you both had a good lunch, Linda. Brings back lovely memories :-)

I am feeling pleased with myself as I have just fixed my email. for reasons best known to itself my main email address decided that it would recieve messages, but not send them.
I googled the error message and in a geeky chat room, I found instructions on how to fix the problem and all without talking to Indis

Glad that you enjoyed lunch out today Linda - but even lunch at the Savoy wouldn't have tempted me out there today, although I appreciate that you were out already.

It was mostly sunny here, with a few short hail storms. Bitterly cold with a biting wind.
I was so glad I didn't have to go out after all.

Haven't visited the Duchess this week, but what with a bad chest, and atrocious weather it wasn't possible.
The forecast for Sunday is looking calmer. So may go then.

That was very trusting of you to give him remote control of your computer Persie

I am glad you have your tablets Tec without having to go out.

The snow disappeared overnight and it was a pleasant sunny day. OH had to go to the hospital to have a photo taken of his eye, just an annual check up. Amazingly they were on time,so we were out very quickly. We were going out for lunch, but were a bit early,so we went to two different DIY places to get bits and pieces.

We then had a drive to a pub we haven't been to before. It is part of a chain and if you get your card stamped at all six, you get a free bottle of wine. That is a good enough reason for us to try them all :-D

They all do very good quality food, one gets an amusee -bouche before the starters etc.

We had to go the cinema on the way back to store away a sweets and drinks order. I normally have to lug it about myself, so was pleased OH hadn't been able to go walking today because of his appointment.

The wind is really wild outside now, glad I don't have to go out

My power did go off until about 2-30am.

It was a dreadful night - the noise of the wind was horrendous, and there were gusts of 96mph at Capel Curig.
Torrential rain battering on the bedroom window.
Another sleepless night. At 5-30am I'd had enough and got up.

Tracked down my prescription. It had gone to the dispensary inside the Health Centre, instead of to the chemist in town where I always have it from, as they deliver, and the dispensary doesn't.
Anyway having tracked it down, Sue next door was going into town so she collected it to save me getting blown away :-D

Persephone Report 15 Jan 2015 10:05

Prescription rules don't seem to bother my OH.. he forgot to take some pill or other when we were away.. he just went to the chemist and told them what he was on and it was looked up somewhere and he paid for the two pills he got from them.

Everyone is linked up via computer these days...

I was rather astonished the other day when we went to renew my Kaspersky security for the computer.. we paid by credit card and were e-mailed our activation number.. which I duly put in and was then asked for a password.. I don't have a password for it.. it gets a new activation each year.. so we rang the help desk and they said put in my log-on to my laptop password.. I said to OH I don't use that elsewhere and said that wont work but woman insisted I do it.. so put it in and nope that's not it.. and she gave us another number to ring..well we rang forever waiting in a queue and then were cut off..

We left it till later rang again and himself stayed holding the phone for two hours waiting. The chap he got was most helpful.. and he said he would do it from there because of our long wait. First of all he put in last years activation code.. and I said to himself hang on that's not right... then he put in the new one, uninstalled my Kaspersky and proceeded to put in my new one. I was watching on the screen.. he went into my document files and you could see him going down through them all and picking out this and that and connecting it all up.... I thought to myself I hope he is not reading some of my letters to people as he goes.. It was amazing that someone can zip zap around in my various files and folders searching for what they wanted.

I felt like I should have cleaned and dusted them all like one would do before the cleaning lady arrives.

No Linda.. one foot spa and one treadmill (they are costly).. BTW the four dining tables I have, I did not buy any of them.
