Of course, Tec. The room is ready and waiting for you :-)

What sort of flooring..

we will get a heat pump for warm winters and cooler summers when we move..

Landlords don't usually provide tenants with such luxuries.

We put a dehumidifier in one of our rentals to reduce the dampness, but the tenants would not use it because it used up power.

I have often done some washing the night before and hung it out early in the morning.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 15 Jan 2015 22:12

I do hope that you've kept that spare bedroom tidy for me Sue - the one you had decorated :-D

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 15 Jan 2015 22:10

We are going to have new flooring put down but we need to do some decluttering first. We will probably wait until the weather cools down.

No, we are not here permanently..

I have seen insects here that I have never seen before.. your fly screen door sounds okay Sue.... I usually don't like them much..

Have just been and hung the washing out.. may have to start doing it earlier like at 6am before the sun comes up.. by the time I had finished the heat had gone right through my canvas shoes and I was hot as.

3 and 4 year olds words of wisdom are indeed very wise. You dare not laugh because they are so serious.

Things are so simple when you are little

Your new door sounds posh Sue. What is your next project going to be?

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 15 Jan 2015 21:55

Amazing what little people think of - but there is logic to Eve's statement :-D

I've noticed that Parts of NZ have had some hot days. On the other hand my son in Hobart says the weather is nice and cool although they did have torrential rain the other day.

Words of wisdom indeed, Linda. I shall write that down just in case :-)

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 15 Jan 2015 21:43

Persie you are making me envious with all that heat :-D

Many towns here have lots of empty shops now, which gives a general run down appearance.
Lots of out of town shopping malls and retail parks have contributed to this, together with the economic climate.

Your river area sounds nice Persie.

Sounds like you need aircom Persie. Are you looking to settle their permanently, or are you looking to buy elsewhere

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 15 Jan 2015 21:36

Sounds good Sue,

they are not in common use here, but as a fly deterrent we need something here. When they stir the sheep up on the mountain in hot weather my kitchen gets inundated with flies.

I chase them with the vacuum pipe :-D

Eves daddy has just posted this on FB

Words of wisdom from a 4 year old:
"If you cut your tummy and your heart falls out it will hurt and you shouldn't do that."

Persephone Report 15 Jan 2015 21:31

and we roast in the heat every day.. The afternoons when the house has absorbed all the sun it can possibly absorb, one can have a sweated brow without even moving.. We have two fans going, windows open and yesterday I found another little fan and put that on as well. The kitchen is too hot to cook in of an evening. We have back door and front door open.. and there is generally a bit of a breeze comes in the back door as the sun moves around.. but I can't really shift my cooker to that little alcove in the hall way.

I think we should try the local pub here and see what they have to offer as a meal. There is a restaurant down that end of the main street as well that might be worth a look. I have now started to worry about this little place.. they have one area which is open and you can walk through to the river.. I think there are two shops on either side of this area and they are all empty..and two places have closed down in the main street and our bank's ATM has gone.. though there are the four other banks Ione is a post office as well) which all have actual people serving in them.

If it was cooler I would picnic by the river.. there is a lake just along from us and they have trees, lovely rose gardens and there is a rotunda there. Maybe I could picnic there. Saw a bloke fishing in there the other day.. not sure what for.

The thundery clouds have disappeared so I've just put a load of washing in the machine.

Our new fly screen door was installed yesterday. I really like it as it doesn't have a metal grille on it. Very smart and modern looking - and very secure.

Life's funny that way :-D

Off you go then. If you make a flask, it will guarantee your lights will stay on

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 15 Jan 2015 21:26

I don't - but it's a good idea :-)
