I have never thought of allotments as being idyllic, more tatty than that. We had a tall hedge along one side of our allotments which gave some protection, but the farmer has just come along and cut it very short. It gives more light to the back of the allotment, but means anyone can easily get in if they wanted, plus the children who throw the stones at the glass have a much easier shot now

another hot day here methinks.. we went for a walk yesterday afternoon about 4pm but we really should go later than that, the sun was beating down on us all the way there and back to the main street.

Amanda did say it could be some lowlife when the knife had been taken, I was surprised that the stuff could be handed back just like that...I thought it would have been hello hello hello what have we here? that will need to be used in evidence that will. You can have it all back in good time Ms Amanda.

I did not suspect the nut case from the allotment, I didn't believe he would have been that stupid to return to the scene.

I do agree that the allotment has to be more secure.. not to the great lengths of a prison of war camp but something... you always envisage scenes of idyllicness (don't think there is such a word but there should be .. a bit like brooming) with an allotment... but I guess it is a bit like Midsomer what looks like a an idyllic scene of a little village etc can actually wreak mayhem.

We can't get most stone fruits out of season. We do get strawberries and raspberries but they are expensive and tasteless.

I'm always cool, Linda :-D forecast is for another hot day.

Yes Tec - the three of us managed to make short work of the shrubs. They were quite large but we trimmed the branches right down and then OH dug up the roots. Easy :-D

I won't be chatting for long. The markets are up and running again so we will be off before it gets too hot.

Hello Sue :-D yes , an incredible turn of events and I wondered the same thing about the possibility of more stolen goods :-0

Tec , I think a " pop gun " and something akin to the cast of " Dads Army " is the best we will muster ......lol

I'm really glad you have never met the dread Lily beetle :-|

Tecwyn Report 16 Jan 2015 21:29

Good Morning Sue,

It was annoying waiting in when I wanted to go out.

Did you get the shrubs up with your neighbour?

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 16 Jan 2015 21:28

A bit of overkill do you think Tec :-D

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 16 Jan 2015 21:27

Hello everyone :-)

I saw the photo on FB, Linda. Poor Eve - I hope it isn't too sore and that it doesn't leave a scar.

How annoying to wait in all day for someone who doesn't turn up, Tec :-(

What an incredible turn of events, Amanda. A lowlife indeed :-( I wonder if there is any other stolen goods at the young woman's house.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 16 Jan 2015 21:26

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 16 Jan 2015 21:25

What you need Amanda is,

an electric fence,

razor wire,

a watch tower manned on a rota system,

a very large scary dog on patrol at night

that should deter them :-D :-D :-D
