I have all sorts of things the children made, or gave to me when they were young. They like to see them when they come home as well
I hope I feel better as well Sue, trailing around cities is very tiring. I think that a lot of sitting and admiring the view will be happening. I just looked up the weather and it is going to be about 20C which will be very pleasant

Those gifts must be kept forever. My eldest son came home from Hobart and asked if I still have a hideous pottery pen holder he made at school...I sure do :-). He is 39.
I'm sorry to hear that our Tec isn't well. I must give him a call as I haven't spoken to him for awhile.
Linda - I hope your cold goes away before your trip.
Sylvia - we are definitely in the depths of Autumn. There are quite a few maple trees around here and they are a glorious colour. Even my maple bonsai is pretty.

My daughter said on Sunday that her son had also shared a cold with her ........ he is also very generous with his "gifts"
You most certainly will have to keep Eve's gift .......... and have it displayed in a prominent position :-D

They are always so generous in sharing their bugs with me :-(
On the positive side Eve had been carrying round a stone and a birds feather in her coat pocket. She wanted me to have them as a gift, very sweet of her, but I will have to keep them as she is bound to remember.

Glad you are back home, Linda ............. now you can have a rest :-)
Sorry to hear that Tec has been unwell, but encouraging to hear that he is not too bad.
Please give him my love and best wishes when you next talk to him
The street outside, the grass and our garden are covered in pink snow :-D
We had a strong wind yesterday and a milder one today, and all the petals are being blown off the cherry trees that line the street and which were in full flower :-)

Good luck Sue
We went to the Workhouse museum at Ripon yesterday. We have never been before and it was very good. OH got to read all of the information on the walls which looked interesting. I had to do a five year olds version as we went round.
They have activities in the holidays, this timet it was to do with the importance of bees. There was a trail to follow with clues. Then she made a real beeswax candle which we brought back.
She also made some skin softener with oatmeal, honey and lemon juice, we put it on the back of our hands and it made them very soft,
She also kneaded some dough and made a tiny bread bun which they cooked and we collected. I am not sure how that fitted in the bee theme, but she had fun.
On the way back after coffee and cake, there was an absolute cloud burst. OH and I sheltered under a shop canopy, but she was half out in it catching the large hailstones and eating them
It is only about ten degrees here Sylvia, but it is getting warmer, if you can dodge all of the rain

you'll need a holiday, Linda :-)
The sun is back here, and the warm temperatures!
It's as warm as June :-0
I'll have to give in and get my summer clothes out of storage if this continues!

Poor you but really? Sending the poor child to the workhouse?
School holidays start here on Monday. We have some trips planned. Not far from here is an animal park with some baby koalas and marmosets. The children are desperate to see them.
The weather has turned cool here as we march through autumn. After the very hot and humid summer we have had its a relief to have these cool days....and some rain.

I will be on my knees by then

You have some busy days ahead of you, Linda :-D
School holidays here starting next week. We have the children for the first week and then their stepdad takes over the second week. We have a couple of outing organised to keep them happy.
We had a lovely weekend with our nephew's wedding on Saturday. It was an outdoor wedding and the weather was perfect. I had all my family together so it was extra special. The bride is a lovely girl and looked stunning :-)
Hope you are all well <3

We have read stories, done her school homework, made an Easter nest from the craft box, played princesses and it is only lunchtime on the first day :-(
Granddad took himself off to his usual Monday morning gym session, so he can jolly well play this afternoon

I have been running round like a scalded cat for the last few days.
My brother is back home, I got him an electric bed which is now in the dining room. We got him various other aids,so that he can live downstairs until his plaster is removed in six weeks, always assuming it heals and they don't need to operate
I have been doing lots of admin for the cinema, the volunteers and friends of the cinema all have a pass which allows them to get in for free. They have to be renewed every year,so I have just produced 115 of them and distributed them.
I needed to get everything done before the weekend as we are collecting Eve, so I can play princesses for the next week.
I have just had a nice long chat with Tec,his daughter had just gone home after being there for a couple of days. I told him everyone's news and we put the world to rights

Hello everyone :-D
It rained all through Easter...it always does. It's almost traditional.
How nice to hear from Tec - sounds like he is doing quite well all things considered. Thank you Linda for keeping us up to date. I miss Tec's humour on here :-(
I love Whitby - anytime we've been there we have managed to avoid the heaving masses.
I might move to Finland ;-)

News from the front
Thought it was time to show my face. Hope that everyone enjoyed the Easter holiday, and overdosed on chocolate.
Good Friday was a beautiful day here. Sunny, and warm. It seemed a shame to waste the day, so my daughter suggested a trip to a little garden centre only 10 miles away. I was tired after the garden centre,so decided not to go to the home to see the Duchess. I found my visit last time quite stressful,.maybe I can go next time.
My daughter and SIL spent the next day tidying up my garden. There was a pile of planks of wood , the remnants of the old shed. My neighbour has a wood burning stove. So the wood is now in her garden, ready to be cut up with a chain saw in the summer. Now I feel that my garden has been reclaimed.
My goldfish have survived the winter, and escaped the heron. Also my tropical tank indoors has been planted up with lots of new plants, and I have had lots of new fish. It looks wonderful now.
My GP phones me every week, and pops in socially, so I am lucky. The medication has been increased, and seems to do the trick. I haven't fallen out of bed since the bars have been fitted. So now can go to sleep without worrying where I will be on the floor. The district nurses still call twice a week, and the palliative nurse calls once a week.
Linda calls me every week, and I am so grateful to her keeping everyone posted. Take care everyone, I hope to post regularly as things improve.
Love and best wishes to you all. Tec.
