That's okay Sue... I was more concerned about whether he was okay as we were going out and I didn't fancy having to disrupt appointments.

Goodnight Tec, keep warm. The forecast for overnight and the morning looks dreadful, the map of the whole country was just blu with minus temperatures everywhere. I have a blood test at 8.30am, so I will be taking the car instead of skating there

I am off as well,so have a nice day in the upside down lands

Tecwyn Report 19 Jan 2015 22:34

We will just have to shout at you Linda :-D

I hope that your OH didn't hurt himself Persie, and I hope that you didn't laugh :-D

Well I'm going now as I have something to do before I go to bed.

Have fun everyone, whether sleeping or running about in the sun,

Goodnight,
Tec :-)

You forget you are wearing these ones that I have.. when I was in hospital I would sleep with one in.. cause they were forever waking you during the night and then whispering.. fat lot of use that is to me.. so I would just put my hand up and ping it on.

He has a bedside cabinet, I don't know why it was not on it.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 19 Jan 2015 22:31

I think your OH needs a bedside cabinet so he doesn't have to reach down

I know my hearing is getting bad, but I can't bear the thought of anything in my ear. My mum had hearing aids, but she couldn't wear them because they were so uncomfortable

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 19 Jan 2015 22:26

They are currently advertising "invisible" hearing aids on tv.

The one my mother had screeched whenever she answered the phone, so she would have to take it out :-0

He was leaning over to switch off his alarm (uses his mobile phone) and just kept on going.. an awful thump..

New bed coming end of month.. will be further to fall then.

Persephone Report 19 Jan 2015 22:22

My mother had a hearing aid...they have changed somewhat since then and one wears two..

My grandfather had "an aid of hearing" ... The works part sat in his shirt pocket and it would sometimes screech and yell but he did not hear that.. Then he thought he was very flash when the works part fitted into the arm of his glasses... trouble is it made his glasses sit crooked as there was nothing to balance the other side.. He looked like Eric Morecambe did when he was clowning around.

No not the squeaky slippers Tec, or I don't think so, these ones are pale blue

How did your OH manage to fall out of bed, all very odd :-S

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 19 Jan 2015 22:19

My mother had a hearing aid - it was astonishingly expensive

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 19 Jan 2015 22:15

Are those the slippers that squeak? :-D

Persephone Report 19 Jan 2015 22:15

I loved Italy, but it is a very long time since I have been there.I still want to go to Malta and Verona.

I think it would go down well with a class of 10 year olds Tec. It amused me and I probably have the same age level of humour. Evan is the same.

I went to get my ears checked yesterday as did he.. I want to get the more expensive hearing aids.. the Clinic Manager who sees me says new lot coming out end of Feb.. so am going back then to do a trial with them. His hearing is going a bit so told him he could have my old ones.. He fell out of bed yesterday morning but that did not improve his hearing.

I spent this afternoon sorting out the wardrobes in "your" room and the other spare bedroom, mainly reorganising all of Eves clothes which we are storing for Esme and throwing lots of books and cd's out.

Anyway in the bottom of the wardrobe are your slippers which you left here. I pointed them out to OH and his immediate response was "Don't worry, she will be back" :-D

Although I've seen much of the world, I regret not having seen European cities, and had ambitions to tour Italy when I retired, but left it too late.
Would also have like to visit Scandinavia, as I never went up there.

If I were younger, and fitter, I would love to go back to see more of South America.
The travel bug has never left me.

We loved Paris just because it s Paris. My heart belongs to Italy although there are other places we would like to visit.

Hi Persie - it is a little scary out there at the moment :-(

I like your historic little village too Linda - it's like a second home to us now :-)
