I managed to sleep from about three o'clock, through to seven, so that was better than recently. At least I felt as if I'd been to sleep.

Might be able to rig something up at the bottom of the bed. Getting it to stay there will be the thing.

You must have been frozen going round with the meals. It really is bitterly cold today. The strong wind makes it worse I think.

I think Persie should get a big red hat to wear with her red shoes.
That would tell everyone that she is a lady not to be messed with :-D

There is a lady marches around this village in a large bright red sombrero type hat, with a ribbon underneath her chin.
She is a short dumpy like lady and I always think of a big red mushroom as she passes my window - makes me giggle. :-D

I never mentioned stilettos... they are flats.. It is quite a few years since I have worn stilettos..

And Linda is correct (gosh did I say that) you should be able to make some sort of apparatus to cover your ankle..you could call it "friend of Archie" Maybe a polytunnel in your bed to keep covers off it.

I hope you managed to sleep last night Tec.

It took me ages to get to sleep because I was thinking about the cinema admin I did just before turning in. Once I did, I slept well though.

I hope your ulcer is getting better, or at least no worse. i am sure you could make a cage from a cardboard box to stop the sheet from touching your ankle.

It is bitterly cold here today, i had the Meals on wheels round to do, they have been signing up in their droves, so it took ages to do.

I can just imagine Persie tottering around in her red stilettos, you think he would know better at her age

Every lady should own a pair of red shoes at least once in her life :-D
and worn on those days that you feel is a red shoe day.

Penderyn whisky is widely available around here - not sure how much it is. I will have a look.
I am not a whisky drinker, being rather partial to gin and tonic..
Been known to enjoy Southern Comfort though.

Cold wind today - the kind that rips your face off. Not a day to be out.

I've been quite industrious this morning. My daughter is coming tomorrow, so it's tidy up day. Vacuum cleaner and duster into action.
Cleaned the bathroom.
Did a load of washing - two loads in the tumble dryer.

The District Nurse has just been, so that's out of the way.

Now I will light the fire, it's freezing in here although the heating is on. Supposed to be turning warmer this weekend.

Red shoes :-0 Enough said

I know all about Welsh whisky Sylvia. My brother in law is Welsh, so we have bought some for him.

Also my SIL is a keen whisky drinker, he likes the peaty varieties, in fact I bought him one for Xmas. Anyway his sister is married to a Welshman and they live in Wales. They bought him a bottle of Welsh whisky for Xmas. He didn't realise it existed either.

How did you get on with your property search Persie, have you found the home of your dreams yet?

I don't think you should be doing "excel isles" either Linda.. though on the other hand they do sound like something one does on a spread sheet.

We went for an afternoon walk but I lacked enthusiasm and lagged behind like a naughty child.. so in the end I was sent the short way back and he walked the long way around.

Yesterday I was much better behaved, we went to Cambridge to meet up with a couple of real estate agents.. and we went to "Frans" for him a coffee and me a zero coke when we got there. At lunch time we went back there and he got tea and a pie and I had a coffee and bacon and avocado sarnie.. come afternoon tea before we left we went back there and I had coffee and Polish coffee cake and he had Blueberry shortcake and coffee.. I also said to the girl that served us that we should receive a prize for being there 3 times in the one day. There are other places but that one is our favourite.

Whilst there he had to go to the ATM for print outs and I walked along looking in shop windows and saw a set of four owls.. I thought they would be expensive, but girl went in to the window to investigate and she called out the price and I said yep we'll have them. (I thought that would have been the price of one) .. he didn't hear me talk to her and he said well do you want them or not.. I said hmm get out your eftpos card and you can pay for them.

But wait there's more.. before afternoon coffee I was looking at these shoes.. I told the woman there I was on my way to coffee..she probably thought that would be the last of me. Returned after coffee and I looked at three different ones made my decision tried them on and said yep.. and out came his card again.. This is the first time in my life I have ever owned a pair of red shoes.

Whilst in the shop that is a florists and all sorts of ware, where I got the owls I saw some coffee cups for Linda and her husband.. His said Mr Right and hers said Mrs Always Right.

I could do with your sort of body repair shop Tec..

Penderyn Madeira is available in local liquor stores for $99.99 for a 700 ml bottle

that's around £50

I've just posted this on the Welsh thread, but I thought some of you might also be interested ....... including Tec, who will read it in both places :-)

The hotel we stayed at last weekend had a Whisk(e)y Bar Lounge

They reckoned they had over 140 different types.

The first night, OH was really intrigued by one on the listings ................

WELSH WHISKY

He ordered a single serving (1 oz) of Penderyn Single Malt at $12 (or about £5-5.50)

I also had a teeny tiny sip.

It was very "light"

They also had Penderyn 41 Madeira (also $12 single serving)

He said he might buy a bottle if he ever sees it in our local liquor store, as a "curiosity" .................. but he really prefers peatier whisky.

We were intrigued with where it was from ........ and I've just googled it

Penderyn Distillery is situated in Brecon Beacons National Park and is considered the smallest distillery in the world. It began in 2000, sales started in 2004, and a visitors centre was opened in June 2008, with Prince Charles, Prince of Wales leading the proceedings.

Apparently whisky had been made for centuries in Wales ................. who knew????? ................... but manufacture ceased around 1894.

I saw a programme where they grew a human ear on the back of a mouse.

It was a sort of "Tomorrows World" programme.

Maybe a sign of things to come - a bit goulish sp I thought

I'd be a bit worried about where the spare parts came from Tec :-0

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 22 Jan 2015 22:24

There is obviously a gap in the market Sylvia, maybe we should set up our own version of the Body Shop, I am sure we would have a huge number of shoppers wanting our wares :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 22 Jan 2015 22:22

Wouldn't it be good Sylvia if we could go to a spare parts body shop and come out rejuvenated - running about like five year olds :-D
