That is very typical of most town councils at the moment.

no sense of priorities :-0

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 26 Jan 2015 21:52

They are cutting back lots of services, but spending a fortune on two new town signs with Magna Carta on them, to replaced the two perfectly good ones we already have

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 26 Jan 2015 21:50

Are they making capital out of the good Baron?

I expect so

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 26 Jan 2015 21:47

Baron de Mowbray who had a castle here was one of the original barons, so the town is making a big thing of it

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 26 Jan 2015 21:43

oh that's interesting

LindainHerriotCountry Report 26 Jan 2015 21:42

It wasn't t signed at Runneymede. I read an interesting article all about it in the Times on Sunday

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 26 Jan 2015 21:34

I am watching it too.

I'm sure he said the Magna Carta was never actually signed, or sealed, by anyone.

yet we celebrate the signing at Runnymeade?

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 26 Jan 2015 21:32

I am trying to watch a programme about tha Magna Carta, but I am very tired and can't concentrate on it

I've just eaten my dinner.

Hopefully I will now get to visit the Duchess on Wednesday.
That is supposed to be when the bad weather arrives, but it may not be too bad here. I just hope it isn't too windy.

My daughter and SIL were there yesterday, so at least she has seen someone.

Probably thinks I'm busy playing football :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 26 Jan 2015 21:14

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 26 Jan 2015 21:11

Get your brother to help you do it, the two of you should be able to work out something. You don't want me to set Sylvia on you, now do you :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 26 Jan 2015 21:09

I will DEFINITELY see to my bed tomorrow after my brother and SIL have left at around 4pm

and I am to tired to fiddle around with it nowm and besides the thing I want is up the top. I will send my brother up for it tomorrow.

That lady has gone off to Stoke on Trent to stay with her brother for now.
She had to return to the scene to help the investigators.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 26 Jan 2015 20:56

Grr, didn't I tell you to sort your bed out. Don't say you are too tired, just do it

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 26 Jan 2015 20:54

Thank goodness she got out. My sisters house burnt down on Sunday teatime the thatch burnt so quickly that if it had been in the night, they would never have got out

My sister didn't even have a pair of shoes on people were very good. The next door neighbour let them stay with them until they got accommodation sorted out. Everyone in the village brought them clothes to wear

Tecwyn Report 26 Jan 2015 20:52

I have had a very strange day :-0

Got to sleep at 5am. Woken at 7am by a phone call.

Milo went home around 3pm.

I decide it was too late to get ready to visit the Duchess, by the time I would have got there.

Sat in the armchair at about 4-30pm, and woke up half an hour ago.

Just put something in the oven for dinner, which will now be supper :-D

My brother is visiting tomorrow, so I have to get ready for him.

Things don't always go to plan - do they? :-(

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 26 Jan 2015 20:46

Milo has gone home.

Sue brought her friend, and her dog home. She has given her friend some clothes to wear.
The lady was apparently standing in the road in her nightie and slippers watching her house burn down. Someone lent her a coat.
She has lost absolutely everything - the house was burnt to the ground.
The main thing is that she is unhurt - houses and property can be replaced.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 26 Jan 2015 20:39

Well, it's 8-37pm here :-D

but if you mean BC, I think it might be 12-37pm

I might be an hour out because of the change in clocks in O ctober
