I had an unexpected cesarean when my daughter was born ....................

As this was 40 years ago, I was in hospital for 10 days before being released home, and so was in somewhat better recovery mode than the early release of today

After I got home, I found it hard to accept in my mind that I hadn't just birthed a baby, but had had an abdominal operation .................. so I would keep trying to do things, only to be brought up short

This could be as little as lifting J (who weighed just over 7 lbs at birth) without taking care ................... or a kettle filled with water.

I only realised how bad early release from hospital after an operation can be on looking back at how long it took me to reach certain stages of recovery after the 2011 mastectomy vs the 1995 one

In 1995 I was in hospital for 6 days, in 2011 only overnight.

There was also the difference between a hospital bed and our bed

In short ................... I'm in favour of longer stays in hospital rather than quick releases :-)

It doesn't seem to be the date, but the time. I think you will stay at the top Amanda until it passes 00.13 UK time just over three hours from now

I think your daughter is better staying put, or at least leaving the twins in the hospital for a little while so she can get over the operation. That is said with the hindsight of age though, I expect she just wants to get them home as soon as possible
Is she living in her own flat?

Amanda

I suspect you are correct about your post staying at the top!

They may have corrected the clock, but they don't seem able to correct the wrong timings

I seem to remember something like this also happening a few weeks

Good Evening / Good Morning Everyone :-) :-) <3

Just popping in quickly before working on my Tree to say I am thinking of Amanda, and her daughter, and hope everything goes well, for her and the twins :-) :-)

Hope you are all happy and well:-)

Love Jem <3

EDITED- The posts are coming up with wrong times! According to this it's 8:11pm UK time!!
I wondered why I was tired.... it's almost time for bed :-D :-D :-D :-D

Amanda2003 Report 30 Jan 2015 20:03

Thank you for the congratulations :-D I think it is finally sinking in that they have arrived ...lol
Linda , I believe your right about the five pound weight but I have a feeling she may be able to bring them home sooner if they are gaining weight okay . We live a very close to the hospital , maybe that will help with her " order of release " in due course ?

I suspect my post that is wrongly dated 31 Jan 01.33 may stay as the end post until that date and time is reached ? most odd .

It is adding the new posts, but Amanda and Jem's posts are stuck on the top

Please be advised that we are aware of an issue with our clock that appears to be running in a timezone all of its' own at the moment !

We are looking into this and hope to have it fixed as soon as possible.

possibly posted at around 5:28 pm, but who knows :-S

:-D :-D :-D :-D

The clock may or may not be working now ....................... but posts, and threads, are still all in the wrong order

Silly thread, all mixed up

The weights are even better Amanda, I think they usually have to be five pounds before they come home, so although they will probably lose a bit at first, they will soon pick up and be big enough to be released

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 30 Jan 2015 19:09

This is ridiculous .....lol The real weights are now announced before the wrong weights ......durrrrr :-S

Amanda2003

Amanda2003 Report 30 Jan 2015 19:05

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 30 Jan 2015 17:32

I am so pleased that they are safely here Amanda, they are good weights for being born so early. It wont be long before they are home and it will give your daughter time to recover in the meantime

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 30 Jan 2015 10:33

You will have to wait Sue, they will come when they are ready, or in this case when the hospital is ready :-D

Hi everyone

Sue ............ that was lovely of Berona's daughter.

Like everyone, I still miss Berona

It was about 11/12C here today, bright sun after a cloudy morning .....................

that's about twice what the temperature should be!

Apparently we still have air flow from the sub-tropics (ie south of Hawaii), only it's bringing only warm air in, not the rain it usually does

Amanda ....... that is so exciting!

I hope all goes well for her xxxx
