Sylvia is in a good area for whale watching.

We had a dead whale washed up on a local beach last summer. The theory was that it had become lost, through illness or injury - poor thing.

Sue ......... I love to watch the dolphins playing :-)

The only time we put the TV on before 5:30pm is if there is some major "disaster" or event ................. 9/11, or I watched the funeral of the RCMP guy shot in Ottawa last October.

we have a radio station here that is dedicated to local news, with travel and weather information every 10 minutes ............... that's far more up-to-the-minute than the TV or the national radio station. We listen to that one when we need to know conditions.

Most places over here now have a similar station.

If you have Dolphins Tec, Sue can come over here and we can watch yours together

Hello Sylvia,

I like to see the mountains showing their peaks above the mist.

I like to listen to the BBC World Service. They seem to cover much more world events than the usual BBC news broadcasts.
Suppose it's all to do with time available.

There is a whale watching cruise from May to September from the same area and also a seal watching cruise. My son loves this area called Jervis Bay because there are so many species of birds and sea creatures. He often goes down for field trips with Uni.

Hi Sylvia :-)

We watch the morning news then the tv goes off. If the weather is miserable we may watch a movie but other than that it stays off all day. I might put some music on when I'm on my own in the house but the house is usually quiet.

We have dolphins in the Bay, but the conditions have to be perfect. Very calm flat sea, those days when the sea looks like glass, and warm.

They arrive in mid May, and go away in September.
There are more further South on the Welsh coast. We also get seals in Feb/March, sometimes with pups :-)

hi everyone

it was very foggy here this morning, it then cleared from the south part of town but it is still hanging around the harbour and inlet to the north

It looks very strange to drive north and see this bank of fog with the mountains showing above it :-)

It is just cloudy round here ................ but "showers" are forecast for this evening and tomorrow

Tec .............. I usually have the radio on all day here when I am in by myself. I can listen and not listen, but OH finds it distracting, so I turn it off when he is home.

We usually only have the TV on for the evening news .......... 6-7 pm for the local, then watch a couple of minutes of a national "News Now", and 5 minutes or so the the BBC World. The TV is usually off by about 7:15 pm, 7:30 pm at the latest :-)

I shall forever blame my OH for missing a dolphin trip

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 31 Jan 2015 22:03

I would have loved you both to have been there but with your OH so ill who would have been there to look after him? It wouldn't have been fair for Tec to be there and not you.

I do hope your OH feels much better soon, Linda. He sounds quite ill.

Today is overcast so we picked the right day. I'm doing nothing other than the basics today. No markets, no visiting, no gardening :-)

Good Morning Sue,

Glad you enjoyed the dolphin cruise, they really are magical creatures.

The Chinese can show great excitement :-D

SueMaid Report 31 Jan 2015 21:50

We didn't go outback, silly :-) We went down the coast on a lovely sunny day. Most of the time we explored different areas off the main roads with our son's guidance. We then made our way back to civilization and went on the long awaited dolphin cruise. What a show they put on for us :-D There were two babies in the pod of dolphins. On board the cruise there was a group of Chinese tourists. Part of the enjoyment was watching their delight every time the dolphins jumped out of the water.

It's not a waste, they will get eaten in time. I just am able to save them, or I might just give them away. :-D
