I can't understand anyone wanting to watch it, but apparently some people do.
Must have warped minds

It's all so dreadful - but who would want to see anyone executed in such a barbaric manner?

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 31 Jan 2015 22:54

They do say that they know his identity - but I doubt he will ever be brought to justice

It was the same British man who did the beheading

Edit - I think Jordan has done a deal with their pilot exchange for a suicide bomber

I've seem many whales off your coast Sylvia - a common sight in that area. Never knowingly hit one.

Unlike piles of logs floating along - they cause a rumble :-D

Personally, I think it is worth every penny .......................

the more balanced news most countries in the world get, the better

the only other real option is CNN. and that is far from balanced :-)

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 31 Jan 2015 22:36

it's the women anchors we find are not as good :-)

Just looking at the service on the internet ................. they're saying that the second Japanese hostage has been killed :-(

BBC World Service frequently cover events never mentioned on routine bulletins, or weeks before them
The terrible events in Nigeria carried out by Boku Haram were reported weeks before they were casually mentioned on routine bulletins.

They have a Somali reporter Ragi Omar who is very good. He reported the initial invasion of Bagdad at the start of the Iraqi war.

I haven't listened to the world service very much, OH grumbles like mad about the cost of keeping it going

you know .......................

we've never been on a local whale watching cruise :-)

we have been on one off Newfoundland.

we do often see dolphins and seals, and sometimes whales, when we use the ferries.

we've had several whales on this coast killed ....................... by big ships hitting them.

A couple of years ago, one of the big cruise ships arrived at the dock here, and people saw a dead whale draped across the bulbous bit at the bow.

One was found this past week under a dock in Seattle .................. people were complaining about a bad smell. When they investigated, there was a dead whale with massive injuries to its side.

The ships are so big, they never even feel any "bump"

Tec ..............

we really like the tv BBC World Service, they seem to give a very balanced view of world events ......... and we often hear about happenings that don't make it on to our media otherwise.

There are a couple of their anchors that we don't like, and I'm afraid we don't stay tuned to them for very long :-)

Unfortunately, they happen to be female :-(

I do like the 2 men, Mike Embley and Adnan Nawaz :-)

The trouble is we never know when the dolphins will arrive - you have to be around.
Best time is early morning, and late evening just before sunset.
It is to do with food available.

I remember a local newspaper banner headline once

"Sea Alive With Dancing Dolphins"

Whoever heard of dolphins dancing. :-D
