Hellooooooooo :-D

Greetings from Lapland - I have fed the caribou. Made a hole in the ice, hopefully to catch something for tea.
Eskimo Nell is sitting on top of the igloo on polar bear watch - miserable devils they are, no sense of humour.
Wish there were a McDonalds :-D

Persephone Report 3 Feb 2015 08:06

Just been catching up with all the comings and goings since I was last here. Though I did know about Orion and Odin and have seen the photos.

Been following the progress of Esme and how she is learning more each day. Stellan does not think he should sleep for more than about two hours at a time either and then the feeding and changing and anything else takes an hour before he goes down again for another two hours.. totally unlike his mother who slept a full nine hours the first night she had at home.

Amanda and Sylvia mentioned Caesareans, my eldest daughter's children were all born by C section. During her first pregnancy my younger daughter attended ante-natal classes with her sister, then when it came time for the birth we counted about 14 people in the room waiting for her to give birth naturally which was not going to happen.. so the midwife came to me and said to you want to go with your daughter when she has the caesarean as only one person can go in.. I said no my youngest has been with her all the way it is up to her.

She did very well supporting her sister.. apparently gave a running commentary about all that was going on.. The doctor mentioned something to the nurse about what he had been doing on the weekend.. so youngest told eldest, and now they are discussing their social lives.. of course the eldest could hear this and the doctor and nurses all burst out laughing.

I think the topic was golf and we here are very proud to have not only the top woman golfer but the youngest as well.

I am using his PC so that is why I have not been around much just doing brief appearances on FB and reading my e-mails.

Sue .................

so sorry to hear about your uncle's death xxx

There are none of my father's generation left alive .................. he would have turned 111 this coming March, so perhaps not too surprising :-D

However, I am not anywhere near the eldest of my generation ................... the cousins in Australia and England are all older than me :-)

In Australia, one turned 90 on January 20, and her sister turned 88 5 or 6 days later. The 3rd one will be 84 in April.

The 2 in England are 80 and 84 .........................

they're living much longer than their parents :-D

Hello to Sylvia when you arrive

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 2 Feb 2015 22:55

You just follow him about with a little bag and a shovel :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Feb 2015 22:51

Good idea except the goat might leave little deposits on the grass and you wouldn't want Sue standing on them

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 2 Feb 2015 22:48

Sue you need to tether the goat on the grass :-D

My OH isn't good at being ill either. He gets impatient and tries to do things when he's not well enough.

I might some time into the garden today. With the rain and sunshine everything including weeds is growing so fast. Poor OH seems to be always mowing the grass.

Tecwyn Report 2 Feb 2015 22:44

Oh we've just been given minus 5C tonight, and a high of 4C tomorrow - tropical.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Feb 2015 22:42

Yeah, it is going to be much warmer tonight, all of minus 3

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Feb 2015 22:36

Poor OH, he isn't very good at being ill. Hopefully he will start to pick up, although today he felt worse that ever

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 2 Feb 2015 22:21

Yes we have visited him a few times but not this last visit because he wouldn't have recognised me and apparently he would get very agitated when "strangers" visited. In the end he didn't know his own son, DIL and grandchildren. He didn't even realise that he had a new great grandchild.

I'm sorry that your OH is so ill, Linda. Sleep is the best thing when you are so ill. I hope you're not coming down with the same thing. You won't be able to have your hip replacement if you're not well :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 2 Feb 2015 22:14

Oh, I am sorry Sue, I remember you visited him the first time you were here, or at least I think you did

Tecwyn Report 2 Feb 2015 22:14

Hello Sue,

That is very sad news you had. Your uncle lived to a good age, but sad when the very last of his generation passes away.

My aunt aged 96 died a few months ago. She was also the very last of either side of my family of her generation.
I am now the oldest of my generation.

SueMaid Report 2 Feb 2015 22:08

Hello :-) I am a little late this morning - I didn't sleep well through the night so slept in this morning.

I had some bad news yesterday. My lovely uncle who was 94 y.o. passed away. I had a phone call from my cousin who lives in High Wycombe. He is the last of my father's family :-(

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 2 Feb 2015 22:05

How could you? :-0

Hope he finds the wrappers in the bin :-D
