Yes - that's what we all think. Joel's Mum and stepdad are proud of him for wanting to give it a go. They can all swim well enough to save themselves but are still in need of swimming lessons.

The ones I do are more like large chewy cookies, I like them, but I hate the ordinary ginger biscuits you buy in packets

ohh I love ginger biscuit, especially with stem ginger :-)

Her mum had to take some baking to work tomorrow for some unknown reason,so they were making them for that. I am sure eve would have had her share though. They also practiced them at the weekend and there were non of those left.

I used to lo like making biscuits, my son's favorites were ginger cookies with stem ginger in them

I hope that Eve saves you both a biscuit Linda, and doesn't steal the cherries off the top :-D

Good luck to Joel at the swimming Carnival - it's not the winning, it's the taking part that matter.

It isn't the winning, it is the taking part, or something like that :-)

All a matter of finding the right formula to make it all work. It would be good for Esme's parents to get at least a few hours of unbroken sleep.

Joel is going to a school swimming carnival tomorrow. He has been practicing for the last fortnight. We doubt he will win any races but he's giving it a go. They are starting swimming lessons again next weekend after a break.

Hello Sue,
Sorry your weather is wet, but good for the garden.

I didn't go out today. It was very cold, so I did some sorting out at home.

Hello Sue, sorry it isn't warm ,but OH's veggies will like the rain

The first night Esme had the medicine she threw up just after it, just coincidence, but of course it didn't work. Last night, she did sleep for a few hours, but woke up at four am wide awake. So my daughter thinks they are going to wait to give it to her until they go to bed, that way at least they can get a few hours

Hello from a very wet part of Australia. Not only wet but cool. Strange weather for midsummer.

Is Esme sleeping longer now, Linda? Making biscuits with Eve sounds like fun. Reminds me of the chocolate chip biscuits I would make with my children. Most of the chocolate would end up in their mouths.

Did you manage to get out and about today Tec

We had a nice chat with Eve and Esme earlier on eve was busy making biscuits with her mum. She was putting two glace cherries on each biscuit, but from the look of the red around her mouth, she had eaten lots of them.

esme was hung up in the doorway in her bounces, loving it and kicking balls which her daddy was rolling to her. She had been in quite a while.

That lady must feel very isolated at times, and it must be a struggle. It is good that there are people like you to help her get to appointments.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 4 Feb 2015 14:08

She was a very nice lady, one I haven't met before, living out in the sticks with no public transport, no longer able to drive because of glaucoma. Plus she is looking after her husband who has dementia, all very difficult really

Well done Linda, very brave of you turning out on a cold dark morning.
Hope the lady appreciated your efforts.

Nice sunny day here, but obviously very cold.

Safely back home thank goodness. The little country roads were covered in snow this morning, not good for driving on, but I got the lady to her hospital appointment on time
