OK as I have aborted the Welsh pub tour, we will start with the highest pub in England which is the Tann Hill Inn

http://www.tanhillinn.co.uk/

They have seven bedrooms and a self catering cottage, or if Sue prefers she can camp outside

They have a restaurant and serve snacks so it should make a good starting place for our tour

Bye Sue - Enjoy your day, and Sylvia if you're back.

Sleep well Linda,

Goodnight,
Tec :-)

No Linda - Aimee isn't aware yet. Of course she will eventually.

Goodnight again <3

Have a good day Sue'

I am off to bed now, so goodnight Tec, sleep well when you go

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 8 Feb 2015 22:36

It is difficult because Aimee doesn't realise she is different in any way. It will be other people who will let her know sadly as I'm sure will be the same with Esme :-(

I must be off as we have to do a few volunteer jobs today.

Goodnight to you both <3 <3

Does Aimee know that she has Downs Sue? I suppose at some stage she will have to know about it

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 8 Feb 2015 22:27

Sue that is a very difficult situation for Aimee and her mother. Unfortunately we live in a very ignorant world.
I wouldn't know what to say to a child of Aimee's age, other than what your daughter has so tactfully said.

When Esme had the feeding tube in her nose people used to stare at her, but now she has her tube direct into her stomach, it isn't so obvious.
When I was looking after her, I would often feed her while we were out. It must look a bit odd when you seem to be pushing a huge syringe of food into her stomach.
I just explained what I was doing to anyone who was sitting near me and looking. everyone I came across was interested, but they all assumed she would soon eat on her own, which isn't correct

We were chatting to them on Skype at lunchtime. Esme had a plastic dish and spoon on her high chair tray with some chocolate mouse in it. She knows what to do because she was trying to feed her mum with the spoon.

When her mum tried to feed her, she just turned her head away. It is so odd to think that she has no desire at all to eat or drink anything. She will occasionally lick a chocolate biscuit or a salty cracker, but she just shows no sign of eating any time soon. She may be up to four before she does, or she may never eat normally

We'll be over as soon as we can arrange the tickets :-D

Linda - I read that very good article on tube feeding. My daughter has to handle some people staring at Aimee who is starting to notice. When Aimee asks why someone is looking at her my daughter tells her that it's because she is so pretty.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 8 Feb 2015 22:07

OH has had enough of the lovies and is now watching football, I don't know which is worse

Good Morning Sue,

The manager of the home is wary of me since I told her what I thought of her when the Duchess was in hospital for a week and nobody told me.

Is you weather better today?

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 8 Feb 2015 22:00

Hello Sue, we need to know when you and OH are coming so we can set off for the pub tour

Robert Downey was so sickly. OH said for goodness sake, don't they all realise they are all millionaires

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 8 Feb 2015 21:57

Hello :-). I'm already out of bed and have been for ages. One has things to do before one can chat.

Nice coffee and biscuits :-)

What a shame to find the Duchess in a state :-( my father was well cared for in a nursing home nearby. At least he was when I started to make sure that certain things were done to make things better for him. They didn't like me there but that didn't bother me.

I'd like to thank my mother, my father, my teacher, her husband, Betty from the Co-op. Mr Smith across the road, the cat, and his mouse,,and the Royal Family, without whose aggravating interference this total box office failure would not have been possible :-D :-D :-D
