The fertiliser is for the allotment so that is fine

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 12 Feb 2015 20:18

Well - chicken poo and seeds is sort of exciting :-D.

I think that chicken poo is the best fertilizer you can buy, if you can stand the smell.

Wish it would warm up a bit, I am itching to get outside in the garden.

Don't think it would have been wise for your OH to go off tramping the countryside. He needs to properly recover from that nasty bug.
I know how he feels, it's very frustrating.

I hate whisky as well, but OH and Sue's OH like it,

OH was supposed to be walking today. He was going with one friend to reconnoitre a walk he is going to lead next month (OH that is), but the friend phoned this morning saying he was ill. OH couldn't go on his own, but it was just as well because he wasn't feeling very well today.

We went for lunch at the garden centre instead. We bought exciting things such as chicken manure and seeds

No - whisky is not my poison, so not saving for that.

I shall opt for a bedroom, if I am honking around the frozen North I need a good nights sleep.

Think I'll bring a hot water bottle :-D

LindainHerriotCountry Report 12 Feb 2015 18:50

No need to end up in the bunk house, they have plenty of bedrooms. Unless you are saving your money for the Scottish whisky when we get there

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 12 Feb 2015 17:18

Think you may have to fight Sue for the four poster. :-D

The Kirkstone Pass Inn looks good,

no doubt I'll end up in the bunk house :-(

Cold grey day here, so I've lit the fire.

We are now off to the Lake District to visit the fourth highest pub in England, it is a 2 and a half hour drive from the Winking Man

This looks nice, open fires etc. It has a choice of accommodation including a four poster suite, ordinary rooms, or a bunk house if you want to save money
Bags I the four poster suite :-D

Tecwyn Report 11 Feb 2015 22:43

Hello Huia,
That's very unusual to see and hear a meteor land - you should go out and see if there's anything left :-D
I expect 100 others will be out there.

Goodnight Linda - sleep well.

SueMaid Report 11 Feb 2015 22:40

Hello Huia - what a shame you didn't realise what it was. You could have caught in on camera.

SylviaInCanada

SueMaid Report 11 Feb 2015 22:34

The contractor tried to tell us that the guttering wasn't sitting properly - OH pointed out that they had done the guttering and there wasn't a problem with it. He then told us that as it was at the back of the house so no one but us could see it :-0

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 11 Feb 2015 22:34

we have the same problem here ............. and OH is no longer keewn on climbing the ladder to clear the gutters.

The work has to be done right!

Huia

Huia Report 11 Feb 2015 22:33

Last night I was sitting here reading, and out of the corner of my eye I thought I saw a flash, which I assumed might be lightning. A minute or 2 later there was a loud bang, nothing like thunder, and I could feel it. I wondered if somebody had been blowing up one of the dams or the water pipeline! This morning I read in the paper that it was a meteor.

Now to read back 2 or 3 pages if I can.

I am off to bed now, so goodnight every one

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 11 Feb 2015 22:23

If it isn't sitting flat, they surely can't try to say it is. We have leaves in the gutters from all the trees. OH is not keen on going up the ladders anymore
