Goodness Tec, we do need to get you out and about. The lakes are lovely

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 12 Feb 2015 22:06

No I haven't been anywhere up there, though it looks beautiful in pictures I've seen.

Have you been to the Lakes before Tec?

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 12 Feb 2015 21:59

The lawn will appreciate the rain, Tec.

Looking forward to the Lakes. Lovely part of the country. Sylvia and her OH better get their skates on or they will miss out :-0

Good Morning Sue,

Maybe the garden will appreciate the rain :-D

LindainHerriotCountry Report 12 Feb 2015 21:51

I shall hope to get a card tomorrow, or someone will be in trouble

Are you ready for the lakes Sue

Hello :-)

It's not Valentine's Day here. That's tomorrow our time. Today is Friday the 13th. I expect to be smothered in flowers and cards.....not.

We don't celebrate Valentine's Day - too commercialised. My daughter and SIL do something very romantic every year which I think is sweet.

Raining here today but already very humid.

oh good :-)

Just going to make coffee

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 12 Feb 2015 21:36

The flowers normally last longer than that, maybe because it's the first one.

The other one may flower if moved. When the plant is mature you will get a succession of flowers, sometimes several stems at once.

I hope to get a white one sometime

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 12 Feb 2015 21:31

There are just two flowers still on the one on the hearth. I will swap the plant with the one in the study before we go away, so hopefully that one will then flower

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 12 Feb 2015 21:27

I think there is a flower coming on one of clivia plants I have like yours.
Surprising because it's much smaller than the one you've got

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 12 Feb 2015 21:19

Very true :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 12 Feb 2015 21:17

It would be a bit awkward, if flattering, for a married lady to get lots of Valentine cards :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 12 Feb 2015 21:11

Oh well, we wouldn't want her OH to be jealous,so I suppose it is better if she doesn't get lots of cards

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 12 Feb 2015 21:04

I think she also said the young man was gay. So he may well be sending a card to someone, but doubt it will be Sue :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 12 Feb 2015 21:02

Well, I thought Sue might get a card from the young man who said he adored her the other day :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 12 Feb 2015 20:46

I don't think Sue will be getting cards in the plural - could be very awkward :-D

No I have not arranged for red roses for the Duchess. She wouldn't understand sadly.
We never recognised Valentines Day after we were married. Didn't need a special day, that has just become another commercial bonanza anyway.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 12 Feb 2015 20:37

I can't wait until Sue gets here to tell us about all her cards and flowers :-D

I hope you have arranged for red roses to be delivered to the Duchess tomorrow Tec

When I first used that fertilizer I didn't realise it need to be dug in, or at least covered. I just sprinkled it around the plants. Then it sort of went mouldy, and disgusting :-0
Now I know better, but it is good stuff.

Tomorrow is supposed to be wet. Can't remember when it last rained.
I am stripping wallpaper in one of the bedrooms, so the weather doesn't matter.

Baby sat Milo today while his mother went to have her hair cut.
