Yes, Sue thinks that it has had its time. Once Tec died, she didn't have the heart to keep it going. That is why I now post on the Welsh thread

oh dear

2 whole months since anyone has posted on here :-(

We've had peculiar weather here ...... and now we have flood warnings on every river in the province!

Yesterday (Friday) was glorious and today looks the same. We did lots of cleaning up in the garden yesterday - trimming shrubs that were just out of control. The lawns need cutting every few days. I can't safely go into my shadehouse because it is slippery with mud. OH is going to do a gravel floor once it dries up.

I hope the weather is good for your son and DIL - there is so much for them to see here in Australia.

You aren't trying hard enough Sue :-|
They posted photos of themselves in Sydney in the pouring rain.

It sounds better today though, they just sent a message while waiting to pick up their campervan. They have just got an Aussie SIM card for their phone, so have sent details of that. It has a 0 on the front of the number, so I don't know if that has to be missed off after the country code as you would do here, I shall have to google

I've spent a lovely day today....I've had the house to myself and after doing a bit of necessary housework I sat and read the rest of the day...bliss :-)

I have just checked the weather in your area for the next week and it is cloudy and rainy. That is no good as my son is arriving in Sydney tomorrow. Please arrange to have the nice weather switched back on for them :-|

Hello

Hi Ann....thank you for thinking of we Aussies. Thankfully as Linda said we are well away from the path of the cyclone. We have family in south Queensland but they are safe and only have some rain to contend with.

Thanks Linda that is good.

They are all south of Sydney, so hopefully will not be in the storm area

Australian geography not being my strong point. And I know Australia is a very large country so not many on here will live in Queensland. I just wanted to say that I hope everyone who comes on here and their friends and families will be safe from the forecast Cyclone. It sounds horrible <3 <3

Hello Elizabeth....how lovely of you to nudge this poor neglected thread up the boards. Thank you?

We have had such a lot of torrential downpours and thunderstorms with flooding and damage in many areas. Everything is damp and the greens are bogs at the moment :-(

Hope all is well with you ?

Hello Sylvia, I thought it would be spring for you. It was glorious here yesterday, warm and sunny. There was a reality check this morning though because it was overcast and chilly. Never mind, at least we have had a foretaste of the weather to come

that sounds like a great wedding, and a lot of fun.

rain, rain, and more rain here ..... with a few wet snow flakes every now and again :-(

I'm so pleased everything went well, Linda. A full weekend of festivities :-). A shame the trip home was so bad but I'm sure you will have wonderful memories of the wedding weekend to look back on.

Aimee is a dancer too...there is no stopping her when music is playing. I took her out the other day and a song was playing on the car radio. I glanced at Aimee and even sitting in the car seat she had to move to the music :-)

The weather has cooled down here at last. Too much rain but blessed cool especially at night.

I had to search for the thread Sue!

We are back home after our little adventures.
The wedding was last Friday. They only had immediate family at the actual ceremony, followed by a meal in a private room in a very nice restaurant in Oxford. It was a lovely day. We pushed the boat out and stayed in the Malmaison hotel in the old Oxford Goal for two nights, which was very nice. Eve was bridesmaid, not that there was much to do, but she was very excited to walk in and out behind them

We then moved on to Morton in Marsh on the Saturday morning where they had hired the town hall to hold a large party for all of their friends. It was a lovely oak panelled room which we helped decorate with bunting, fairy lights, Chinese lanterns with twinkly lights in, balloons etc. It looked really nice in the dark.
They started off at 4pm with afternoon tea. The caterers did a very good job, we all had three tier cake stands, all very civilised. It then continued on until 11.45pm with a buffet mid evening.
It went extremely well and everyone had a good time, although cinders grandma here had to leave at 10pm to take Eve back to the hotel. She was amazing, she danced non stop all evening, even when no one else was dancing. Esme had a great time as well, she really responded to the music and was dancing away.

My daughter had taken little Esme back to bed earlier, so I stayed with the girls and let her go back to the party. It was a shame to miss some of it, but she doesn't get out much because of Esme,so it was nice for her to have some time on her own without her.

My sister and her husband were there as well Sue. He normally wont dance, but I think they had rather a lot to drink, so he had jut started dancing when I left. They danced non stop after that, I think that had a bit of a hang over the next day.

Lots of people mucked in to clear the hall on the Sunday morning, then went back to the hotel we had stayed in with all the immediate family for an extremely nice Sunday lunch which lasted for most of the afternoon

Somehow managed to pack the bride and groom and an incredible amount of stuff into our car and took them back home. Luckily it was only about twenty miles,so we managed.

It was a horrible journey back home, lashing down with rain all of the way, but we made it safely. So that is one child finally married, only one to go now, but with all it entails looking after Esme, I dont think my daughter will have the energy for a long time yet.
