oh that's a shame Linda. You should have shoved them off, so that you could have a go on things :-D

There was no one else in our playground. There rarely is during the winter months.
It is beautifully equipped, following a three year fund raising programme by the villagers, raising over £100,000

We went to the playground as well this morning, but it was full of children,so I never got to go on anything

I can imagine the children are very excited to be included in the trip to Hobart for Aiden's birthday.

Maybe they will keep each other awake to watch the movie :-D

What is the flight time from Sydney to Hobart? just wondered.

We are going to Hobart in a couple of weeks for Aiden's birthday. We're taking Drew and the twins - they are so excited :-D They have decided to have a movie night. We laughed knowing that they will all fall asleep by 9pm.

Hello Sue,

It was a pleasure to have the boys here. They get on so very well with each other, and are amusing. I have never met triplets before, and am not sure even now as to who was whom.
Must be a nightmare for their teachers :-D

Hello Linda,
I'm not at all sure if adults are allowed on the swings, but I didn't care anyway :-D
I should have liked to go down the slide but couldn't be bothered climbing up :-D

Your visitors seem to have had a nice day Tec

Are you sure adults are allowed on the swings?

Hello all :-)

Langley Castle sounds wonderful. We liked Housesteads so I am pleased we are calling in. Such history.

Shaun the Sheep? What fun, Linda :-D

I'm pleased you had a good day with your visitors. The little boys sound delightful - I can imagine they brightened the day :-)

Hello Sylvia,

The Romans had several settlements in North Wales, including building the old Roman Road - A5 - from London to Holyhead.

Why? :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 17 Feb 2015 21:01

Housesteads and Vindolanda look very interesting, and I can imagine the Roman Legions marching about.

Langley Castle is very impressive. Well found Linda.
I may take up permanent residency :-D.

I do hope there will be a stop between Northumberland and Devon, or some of us may be in dire straits :-0 :-D

My day went well with my little visitors. They spent the first 20 minutes sitting side by side, silently, on the sofa, like the three wise monkeys.
They watched me closely, taking everything in.
Then realising that I wasn't going to eat them, they slowly became themselves, and natural little boys.
The were well mannered, well spoken, inquisitive, and very funny.

My brother and sister took them to the beach, fortunately it was sunny and dry, but rather cold. Unfortunately, I couldn't go with as there is no easy access for me to the beach.
They returned with chunks of rocks and stones, that they insisted taking home.
Then they went to burn off any excess energy in the children's playground. I was able to join the there, and I even had a go on the swings.

I enjoyed their visit very much, and hope they may return one day with their father.
Tomorrow they are off to Chester Zoo - that will be fun.

fantastic!!!

Housesteads was where we had the eeriest experience of being in thick mist and almost hearing soldiers marching :-)

It gives a real feeling for Hadrian's Wall

thank you, Linda

LindainHerriotCountry Report 17 Feb 2015 20:25

.OK, we are leaving Scotland, we only have one more pub to do and that is in Devon.

I have had a couple of requests however, so we will be making two extra stops. The first is to visit Hadrian's Wall. I suggest we visit Housesteads and Vindolanda as below

http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/daysout/properties/housesteads-roman-fort-hadrians-wall/

This is an excellent place to see a fort just behind the wall

http://www.vindolanda.com/

Walk on the wall and see the museum

I have chosen a place to stay which I hope meets with your approval

Happy belated birthday, Amanda xxx

It sounds as though you had a wonderful day

I should warn you that I'm a non-driver ................. but I am the world's champion at finding un-driveable roads that really will lead to where we want to go :-D

On one occasion ................a bulldozer cleared boulders off the road (unpaved, of course) so we could get down a very steep road with many hairpin bends to the bottom of the Little Snake Canyon in Idaho.

Then, of course, we had to come all the way up again, 'cos there was no way out (except floating down the river).

OH used to ask, with some resignment, whether I had succeeded in finding a "Sylvia road, yet again!!" :-D

I had better go too, as I have a houseful of visitors tomorrow.

Goodnight Amanda, sleep well.

Enjoy your day Sue - hope it turns out nice for you.

I think we will be coming back down from Scotland after our stay at the Richmond.
As we've already done Yorkshire, I wonder where we will go next?
It will be a long drive wherever it is.

I wonder if there will be a video in the bus? or shall we play I Spy? :-D

I have the task in the morning of showing a new prospective plot holder around the allotments , we only have three and a half vacant plots at the moment , of course they are at opposite ends of the site :-| So I had better be off as well .

I have most of the rents collected and am feeling rather pleased with myself :-D

Night night Tec and have a good day Sue <3
