Hello Sue,
Glad that you had a good day yesterday. :-)
I'm sure that none of my ancestors would be so naughty as to hang around as ghosts. My late grandmother would never allow that kind of behaviour.
:-D

Hello you two :-)
I can't wait to see Tec's ancestral home Linda - can we stay a couple of nights and go ghost hunting?
I'm glad you had a better day with Eve, Linda. A child throwing a tantrum can be difficult to deal with especially in a public place :-(
I had a lovely day with Brenda. She is a delightful person. We chatted non-stop :-)

So glad that you had a happier day today. I suppose we all have "off" days.
Should imagine that Eve really enjoyed being taken to the theatre, and the café, with Grandma.
It was very wet here overnight, and this morning, but a fine sunny afternoon.

We had a much better day today. I took her to the theatre this morning to see a children's production called Room on the Broom which she really enjoyed. Then we had lunch in a cafe and got the bus back.
We did crafting this afternoon, making more robots for our robot family. She was well behaved and has gone to sleep with no trouble tonight.
Grandad stayed behind and mended the bathroom heated towel rail, so he was happy as well
I am glad that you enjoyed your daughters visit Tec.
I think we will stay in your ancestral home for a couple of nights so that you can find out as much as possible for your tree

Oh dear - a child throwing a mega tantrum is so difficult to deal with. I remember my own daughter would throw the most incredible tantrums at around the age Eve is. She would throw herself to the ground, kicking and screaming, while making the most amazing noises. My own method of dealing with it, rightly, or wrongly, was to completely ignore her, until she became more approachable, and whatever it was all about could be sorted out. Of course you can't very well use this tactic when in a public place, and I've often seen a child throw a wobbler in the supermarket, much to the consternation of those around them. I think the tantrum stage soon passes, especially when the child realises that there is nothing to be gained by it. Seems to be all part of growing up, as is sulking to a teenager.
I'm sure that I was a perfect child, who neither threw tantrums, or sulked.
My emoticons have disappeared ................
So pleased that we are staying an extra night at Langley Castle - it looks good.
It will be nice to stop at my ancestral home, Plas Llanmihangel. I have never been there, though my mother knew it well when she was young. I have an old photograph taken around 1900 of the family group of fourteen taken outside the house. My mother's great aunt was tragically killed there when she fell into the water wheel then operating there. Maybe I will hear the bones of my ancestors rattling around the corridors.
It has been a busy week. I had my brother and sister, and the triplets here on Tuesday. Then yesterday my daughter arrived for an overnight stay. She followed my to the garage in Dolthingy, as Linda calls it, to have my car serviced. Then we went to Barmouth for the afternoon. We went for coffee in an interesting converted Welsh chapel. They sold Asian artifacts, from Afghanistan, India, Bali, and parts of Indonesia. I bought a Welsh Dragon? yes I know - but there you are.
My daughter left for home earlier this afternoon, after visiting the Duchess, who apparently thought she was someone else. One of the Duchess's cousins who died some years ago, quite young. I suppose we must get used to that sort of thing now.
Now I am feeling rather tired, so have lit the fire, parked myself in the armchair, and will only move to get something for tea.

I hope you have a lovely time Sue
I am shattered after another day babysitting. We went swimming this morning
Eve has only just gone to sleep which isn't good. She wakes up when she hears her mum getting up for work, so I have had early starts. She had a mega tantrum for OH when they were at the park after the swimming. I had left them to come back to look after Esme, I think OH was at the end of his tether with her. She is getting quite stroppy with me at times with me as well. She knows that there is nothing that will happen to her when she is really naughty, so she gets away with it

Hello :-)
I won't be staying long as I am meeting Brenda from Wales this morning. We have chatted on the phone and are both looking forward to meeting.
Unfortunately the weather isn't great. I can't complain though as the north coast and parts of Queensland are battening down the hatches waiting for a cyclone. Poor Scozz will be having some dreadful weather :-(

I have decided to stay a second night at Langley Castle as it is so nice
Tomorrow we will need a reasonably early start as our journey will be almost six hours. We were due to go to Devon, but there is a change of plan as Tec wants us to visit his ancestral home, so we will take a detour.
I hate to tell you that is run as a B&B, so not licensed. The owner will cook us an evening meal that can be enjoyed in the fine candlelit banqueting hall, I am sure they won’t mind if we bring our own wine

Tec ............
Both of us vote because we feel, and know, that it is our right, privilege and duty
it just won't be for the party currently in power :-)
we might vote for that party IF they dump the pm ........... which they won't do 'cos he has them under such tight control that there cannot be a "palace revolution" :-)
My other reason for voting is ..............................
I feel I have no right to complain if I haven't voted :-D
Canadian politics is really quite wild
We have 3 main parties ..............
Conservative ..... right of centre
Liberal ......... centre
New Democrat Party (NDP) ............... left of centre.
currently the Conservatives are in power, the NDP are the Official Opposition, and the Liberals are third.
Plus we have a couple of Green Party members of parliament, and I think one or two of the Quebec-only party, Parti Quebecois
The current PM / Leader of the Party has moved the Conservatives further to the right than they have ever been
and the NDP have moved closer to centre than they have ever been ................ so basically the Liberals and NDP are jockeying for the centre or just to left of centre position.
Meanwhile ................. the party in power in this province is called the Liberal Party of BC ..........
........... but it is closer philosophically to the Conservatives and the current PM
Many of the provincial MLAs (Member of the Legislature Assembly) will undoubtedly vote Conservative, and may even stump for that party in the federal election ................ just as Conservative MPs helped out in the provincial campaign 2 years ago
It's hard for us to understand ................. and hard for us to explain to others :-)
but it's one reason why OH and I tend to vote for the candidate from one of the 3 major parties who seems as though s/he will be the best for the riding, regardless of their party affiliation.
