It was a staff member at the hospital who rang me but she was very much aware that this person was doing the wrong thing. It was more a friendly warning than a complaint. We were aware she was doing this but didn't realise she was doing it while working as a carer. That puts a whole new perspective on things. Why are people so annoying :-(

Goodnight Linda - sleep well,

Sue that lady needs to be dis-associated from your organisation to save any confusion, especially as you are a charity.

Goodnight Linda - stay warm <3

You can't help seeing them when they're eating everything - you must get bugs on the allotment.

We once had two very healthy gooseberry bushes. A plaque of little caterpillers sp arrived overnight, and stripped every single piece of foliage, killing them

Sorry - I had a phone call that needed following up. We have a lady who is making and selling hats to patients who have lost their hair. She is doing it under the organisation's name. We give them away to anyone who needs them but she is selling hers and there is no paper trail. I've handed it over to the president to sort out.

I don't go round looking for creepy crawlies

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 22 Feb 2015 22:42

Oh I just wondered,

Last summer was curious, we had no green/black fly, or ladybirds, or ants.

very strange I thought

LindainHerriotCountry Report 22 Feb 2015 22:39

May flys are different things Tec

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 22 Feb 2015 22:34

I'm wondering if they are what I know as the May Fly. They fly about noisily at dusk. Very heavy moth like things, or weird flying beetles.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 22 Feb 2015 22:31

I hope they don't come here, they sound nasty

Tecwyn

Sylvia...........

It was JBAs thread entitled "Let the clean ups begin"

someone called Mouseman referred to the chaffers.

I looked the cockchafer up, but we don't have it. Apparently it was almost wiped out by insecticides in the seventies, but is making a comeback since the rules on insecticides were tightened up

Yes Spring is springing here too Sylvia - several of my shrubs are showing buds, including the magnolia that has been considerably reduced in size.

I have got lots of gold crocus out. Never had any luck with them, but have been told that mice find the bulbs of gold crocus irresistible.

You were brave to venture out Linda, unlike me.

No fire Sue. It wasn't somewhere we would normally go, but we thought we would try it
The waitress greeted us warmly along the lines of "Hiya, hows youse all doing" The big blob of chewing gum in her mouth set off the eyebrow piercing and tattoos nicely.

I have just reviewed it on Trip Advisor :-D

One statistic I saw last night was that Canada reckons that 1 in 3 adults will get shingles, and 1 in 5 will get the long lasting pain side effect :-|

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 22 Feb 2015 22:14

the shingles jab is freely available after the age of 60 here .............

.......... but you can ask your doctor for a prescription when you're between 50 and 60
