LindainHerriotCountry Report 23 Feb 2015 21:13

Well you do live on the edge of the land that is true

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 23 Feb 2015 21:07

At least we have electricity, water on tap, and mains drainage :-D

and WiFi

and satellite tv,

Plus I like living on the edge - always have done.

How do you think I ended up in this state :-D :-D :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 23 Feb 2015 21:01

That is what you get for living so far from civilisation as we know it :-D

Maybe the new meter will automatically send readings to your supplier.

I can't have dual fuel on the meter, because my gas is LPG,which at the moment is ridiculously more expensive than oil. Oil prices have dropped dramatically recently, but the LGP supplier increased theirs :-|

LindainHerriotCountry Report 23 Feb 2015 20:48

We had one of those readers for the electricity, but apart from watching the numbers spin round, we never used it much

The smart meter sends the readings direct to the company, so they don't have to read them and you never get an estimated bill. We have duel fuel and on the website it says they will usually do the electric meter at the same time, but there had been no mention of that, only the gas

The bedroom painting hasn't started yet. I am in the process of stripping the wallpaper, where I can. I can't move heavy furniture, so my daughter and SIL are going to do that, ready for painting.

I didn't know they did Smart gas meters. I know about the electric ones that will show you how much each individual appliance is using.

Just don't look at it when the tumble dryer is on :-D

We are having a new gas meter installed tomorrow, a smart one, whatever that is. We didn't ask for it, they are just doing them

They need access to the house sometime between eight and one

LindainHerriotCountry Report 23 Feb 2015 20:29

Your house is going to be very smart. How is the bedroom painting coming on?

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 23 Feb 2015 20:23

No it's not my bin.

Yes I have been busy today, doing all sorts of things.

Tomorrow I'm going to start the decorating in the hall. I can paint the skirting boards, door frames, dado rail etc.

First I have to sand down everywhere that I knocked chunks off the paintwork when I was a novice in a wheelchair before I went into hospital last year.
:-
Then I will get the new handyman in to paint the walls and ceiling.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 23 Feb 2015 20:04

I hope it isn't yours

I see that you have been a busy house husband today

Good Evening Linda :-)

It is blowing a gale tonight, and rumbling in the chimney.
I just heard someone's wheelie bin going for a walk on its own :-D
They were emptied this morning, so I suppose there will be wheelie bins in odd places around the village.

Thank you Sylvia,

I was obviously confused between the May fly, and the May Bug.

I have seen these things here, but not heard of anyone having a problem with them.
