Sylvia - When I came home from hospital on March 15th last year, my magnolia greeted me in full blossom, and looked magnificent.
At the moment it is in tight bud, and I can't see it being out by March 15th this year.

Tec .................

Vancouver is way ahead of itself this year ................ even late magnolias that don't usually flower until April or May are opening. Instead of opening in sequence, the magnolias are all coming out at the same time.

it is really weird.

Of course, there are no insects around to pollinate the flowers :-(

It is miserable driving a long way in the rain. Glad that your OH is home safe and sound.
I saw on the weather forecast that you may have snow. We had a nice sunny afternoon, and a very interesting sky this evening, that usually means wild weather to come.

Watched the rugby, and disappointed for England, but it was a good match.

Sylvia, Your garden is well ahead of the UK. We are usually about three weeks ahead here, being on the West coast and milder climate.
I'm not sure we will be this year.

Hi

it was sunny early this morning (say around 7 am), but it is now cloudy.

We had 1 daffodil out in the front garden 2 weeks ago ................ until someone decided to cut it or break it off :-(

Fortunately, it ended up being thrown on the ground inside the garden, so OH brought it in. It lived for almost a week :-)

There are a couple more out now, as well as the snowdrops, and white and purple crocuses. The yellow crocus are not out yet. The forsythia is almost finished. The camellia is in full flower.

we have a VERY early spring here ............... it has been so warm since Christmas in this little part of Canada.

PLUS .....................

we have 1 leek to share at dinner ........................ It was growing in the veggie patch and OH pulled it yesterday :-)

OH is safely home, I had dinner ready for him, he got his own slippers.

He said it was raining for most of the way,so it wasn't a good drive. We had a long snow storm here, the grass was still covered when I close the curtains

I did see some daffodils out on a grass verge when out on Friday.
Mine are still in tight bud.
There are lots of snowdrops in the garden.

I do have some troughs that look amazing being full of winter pansies, gold and blue crocus, and yellow polyanthus. A real splash of colour.

It was very wet and windy here this morning, but the sun is out now, and patches of blue sky.

I am settling down to watch the rugby.
Good luck to England, but I think it will be a tough match.
I was sorry to see Scotland lose their match, right at the end, especially as they were the better team.

I trust you have your OHs slippers warmed Linda :-D

Brr, the wind is whistling down the chimney and it looks really cold outside.

I was looking out of the window to see if there were any daffodils to celebrate St David's Day with, but there aren't. There are plenty of snowdrops but the daffodils are only just beginning to push their leaves up through the soil.

I do have half a leek in the fridge. It was so big that I only used the top half, so I have the bottom of the white half left. It doesn't look very pretty in the flower vase though :-S

Happy St David's Day Tec

That huge leek you are wearing on your lapel looks a bit silly, don't you think a nice daffodil would have been better :-)

Goodnight Tec I hope the weather improves and you have a nice day Sue

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 28 Feb 2015 22:47

Well I can't go out in the wind - I get blown away - how silly :-0

Sue I hope the cloud keeps going and the sun reappears.
It was a gruesome day here today - hardly daylight.

I don't have to go out for anything, got plenty in, and lots I can get on with indoors.
Though I can feel the garden calling me, it will have to wait.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 28 Feb 2015 22:46

I do wonder if I would miss the caffeine if I stopped drinking coffee :-D

Goodness me Linda - have you just watched the weather forecast?

I'm going nowhere :-0
