LindainHerriotCountry Report 14 Jul 2016 23:15

I have heard from Tecs daughter. he is still in hospital and is still very ill, although he has been better for the last two days. he wants to come home, but he will need 24 care which she is trying to sort out.

They seem to be having trouble controlling his pain which is not good. The only doctors in the hospital are the visiting GP's. It sounds like he needs some specialist help, but there are no facilities where he lives

It's been dreadfully cold today...well for us :-). Yes it did snow in Canberra. My daughter sent a message awhile back saying "it's so cold. Am I crazy". I told her she is indeed crazy :-D. The wind has been dreadful with trees coming down everywhere :-(

I am so pleased that you have been given the all clear Sylvia. Our car is a Nissan

Snow - brr, but I can understand why your grandchildren are excited Sue, I hope there is a decent amount for them

SueMaid Report 13 Jul 2016 01:51

Not the day you planned then, Linda? At least the car is sorted....and clean.

Not a great day for you too, Sylvia? Tests done and no problems found - a good outcome despite the discomfort. What a relief.

We have dreadful weather here. Damaging winds straight up from the Antarctic. Very cold but sunny. Our daughter is taking the children to Canberra to visit their Aunty - our daughter's ex SIL. The children are so excited because it's snowing....daughter not so excited :-D

what make of car do you have?

I got a clean bill of health yesterday, after suffering through a colonoscopy and an endoscopy ........ they did one, then turned the bed around and did the other :-D

They took some tissue for biopsy, and I have to go to my GP in 2 weeks to get the full report.

The worst was that I spent about 2 hours lying on my left side, and was in a lot of pain yesterday evening as my OA-affected joints and back really didn't like that!

Still it's all over now, and I know I apparently don't have a problem :-D

LindainHerriotCountry Report 12 Jul 2016 22:38

It was because we got a free coffee and they washed and vacuuetd the car.

Of course if there hadn't been a problem with the air bags in the first place,we wouldn't have had to waste half a day

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 12 Jul 2016 22:12

well, that was good!

LindainHerriotCountry Report 12 Jul 2016 21:44

Not really, but at least the car recall was done. They were replacing the airbag explosive thingy

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 12 Jul 2016 20:24

We took the car in, but didn't realise the Great Yorkshire Show started today and we had to go near it. It took us ages to get there because of the traffic The garage did still did it, even though we were late.

We had lunch out, but it wasn't that nice, never mind

SylviaInCanada Report 12 Jul 2016 04:34

Hope the little is better.

It was chilly again today, though no rain. The hospital was downright cold!

Happy Anniversary, Linda xx

Enjoy your lunch in town

It's our 49th in August :-0

SueMaid Report 12 Jul 2016 00:39

Meant to say that I hope the little one is much better.

Wow...46 years married :-D You must have been a child bride ;-) Sorry but I'm no poet but congratulations to you both - I hope you find a lovely place for lunch <3

I don't like Andy Murray very much but he's a great tennis player. Milos Raonic is also very good. I was sorry that Djokovic dropped out so early as I love to watch him play - also Federer.

Not good weather here - cold, windy and rainy. Oh well it is winter.

Thinking of Tec <3

The poorly twin wasn't very good when I looked in, she was considering taking him back to the hospital, but I don't think she did, as her car was still there, so she must have coped

It is our 46th wedding anniversary today. We don't bother celebrating, but we have to take the car in for a recall tomorrow to a major dealership where we don't normally go. It is in a nice town, so we will find somewhere for lunch.

My daughter looked it up when I told her tonight and she said that the gift is some original poetry, so she is going to get Eve to help her to write something tomorrow.

Sue and Sylvia, I await your offerings :-D

LindainHerriotCountry Report 11 Jul 2016 09:50

I thought Raoinic played really well in the semi final, but he seemed a bit over awed in the final. Not surprising really, the atmosphere on centre court with all those people supporting Murray must have been intimidating.

The twin I was looking after woke up and started to cry, I thought I was going to gave to bring him down and give him a bottle, but he suddenly decided that he would have his dummy after all and he went back to sleep.

He had disturbed the three year old who then started shouting for mummy, so I had to go in to him. He is we'll used to me looking after him, but recently he has started to do very loud over the top crying even if he falls and gets the tiniest bump. As soon as he realised that it was me, he started making a racket because he wanted mummy. I ended up bringing him downstairs before he woke the twin up. As soon as we got down, he was fine, he sat on my knee and we watched the moon. Why is it that little ones are always fascinated by the moon?
He was really tired, but didn't want to go back to bed, so I covered him up on the sofa and her went straight to sleep. After a while, I tried to move him, but he cried, so I just put him back on the sofa and he was still there when his daddy came back.

Mum had stayed at the hospital, but they hoped that the other twin would be let out after the doctor saw him about 11pm. Her car is on the drive this morning,so she must have come back at some stage. I will call in later on

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 10 Jul 2016 21:40

that would make it easier, wouldn't it? :-D

Do hope the twin will be OK

I don't think that Raonic may have to wait that long ............ he's already tons better than he was when he was in the semifinal 2 years ago. As he said in an interview, he just couldn't get on top of Murray today .......... he'll learn! He hasn't won a major yet, but he has won 9 titles on hard courts.

He's beaten Federer twice now ....... once in the Brisbane International to take that title earlier this year.

Currently emergency baby sitting next door as one of the twins is at the hospital with a chest infection, hopefully they won't keep him in. I am already booked to help them out tomorrow afternoon as well.
Pity I don't live next door to my own family

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 10 Jul 2016 20:36

I didn't like him, but he seems to have mellowed and I like him now

A Canadian boy won the junior title, so maybe in a few years...

SylviaInCanada Report 10 Jul 2016 19:36

Thank you, Linda!

But I do wish it had been anyone but Andy Murray! I've never liked him, don't know why.

But I congratulate him on a good game.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 10 Jul 2016 17:03

Sorry Sylvia, I know you would have liked a Canadian to win Wimbledon, but he didn't :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D
