I think men lurking behind newspapers are private detectives, or working for MI5 or 6 :-D

Most decent cafes have papers you can read,so you could hide behind them Tec

I love copper beech hedges. They look nice all year round, but I realise the leaves are a nuisance when they fall.

I do feel rather self conscious when eating alone, when everyone else has company. Suppose it's because I'm not used to it.

Strange goings on in the kitchen at the Star :-D

It was a lovely day here Sylvia, quite warm. The sun had real warmth in it through the car window.
Coming around the Bay, the tide was up and quite a surf breaking on the rocks. It could have been mid summer. :-)

Thank goodness we didn't have the soup :-0

We don't go there very often, but we ended up in that direction today

Hi

another lovely sunny day, but a wee bit chillier than yesterday ............ it was 1C at 9 am :-)

The Star looks a wonderful place :-)

I just had to check it out. Not sure I like the bath at the foot of the bed though :-D

I often used to eat out by myself at lunchtime, if I went downtown, to the mall, or even walked over to our local little shopping area.

I do still eat on my own after every physio session ..... OH then meets me where I've eaten to bring me home (via the coffee shop, of .....course :-) ). I usually (oh, OK ------ always) eat at a very good little Japanese place across the street from the physio.

I have always carried a book with me, I get that out of my bag as soon as I've sorted my meal, and then just read. Occasionally, someone will talk, and that's fine as well :-)

Eating alone is fine, I often do it when I am out shopping, you should do it for a change.

I have just walked into the town because I needed to go to the post office. It was sunny but chilly, my face is stinging now I have come back into the warm house.

OH is out I the garden raking more leaves off the borders. The Copper Beech trees at the bottom of the garden are nice, but are a real menace with their leaves

I like to drive over remote single track roads sometimes.

Last September I took my sister and BIL who come from the flatlands of Essex, up onto a mountain road. That has magnificent views, and climbs to around 2,500 ft.
As my BIL has a fear of flying, and has never flown, it was probably the highest he has ever been.
Part of the road has a 300ft sheer drop with no barrier, the road is very narrow there, and I think it was a bit of a white knuckle ride for him
:-D
The only trouble now is, that I have to have a passenger to keep jumping in and out to open and close the numerous five bar gates over the mountain.

Today has been quite productive. The nurse turned up at 9am. Then I went for my annual medical review, giving copious amounts of blood.
Went to get my haircut, and goodness me I needed one.
Made an appointment to get my eyes tested, and picked up some shopping, after dropping off three suits at the Air Ambulance charity shop.
I decide I will never grow back into those suits, though it was a wrench to part with them.

Now I am going to sort out my washing, and load the machine.

The Star Inn sounds nice, glad that you enjoyed lunch.
I nearly stayed in town for lunch, but I feel a bit awkward eating alone :-(

Just been out for a meander on the moors. OH likes to go down single track roads for a bit of an adventure.

We had lunch at the Star Inn in Harome Which is a thatched chuck framed longhouse dating from the 14th century. The food is always very nice, just a bit on the pricey side, but we are worth it :-D

There is still a fair amount of snow in the hedgerows on the top, but it has gone down here.

If anyone is doing any research Find my Past is free this weekend from midday Friday to midday Monday

I haven't got any snazzy jackets, mostly country tweed ones, (one made in Yorkshire)
