I think the secret of eating abroad is knowing where to go. The locals always know the best places, usually off the beaten track.
In these place you often meet the most interesting and friendly people.

You float in space among the stars for eternity. I think I'm a bit like that at times :-D

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 4 Mar 2015 22:13

I wonder where you go when you fall off? :-D

it might be nice :-D

Linda :-0

Of course I want to go to the Star - if you say it's good then it must be.

When we were in Italy we had some lovely meals in nice restaurants but the best meals were in little cafes . When we were staying in Florence the receptionist at the hotel suggested a small pizzeria for a meal. We were treated like royalty the first time and like family the next time we went. We were given a glass of wine, nibbles and a couple of the people at the bar sat with us until our meal came. They were very interested in Australia.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 4 Mar 2015 22:00

I shall see what I can do :-D

Really, I'd rather have a dog, and go up the mountain with a packed lunch.

That is more my style than restaurants. :-D

Posh restaurants? Been there, done that, all over the world.
Now I am in a different place :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 4 Mar 2015 21:56

Hello Sue,

I have been in the coffee shop in Dolthingy a few times since - happy memories. :-)

It's quite common in a smart hotels to see business men eating alone in the restaurant where they may be residents.

Perhaps I need to get out more :-D

Hello :-) Ah - good memories of the coffee shop in Dollthingy :-)

I will have lunch alone if I'm out shopping or have an appointment. It doesn't really bother me as there are usually other people having coffee or lunch alone.

The Star looks very nice, Linda :-)

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 4 Mar 2015 21:21

Tecwyn Report 4 Mar 2015 21:16

Hmm - that's not bad, but needs to be somewhere more exciting.

I would have to go further afield

LindainHerriotCountry
