I wish I had thought of that, but the fire is too hot to leave right now, and I have to wash up after dinner.

Hello Sylvia,

I'm sure the Duchess will be fine with the right treatment.

Linda you can't go to bed, you wanted to watch Banished :-D

The nurse who phoned said that they don't know how she hurt her hand. It is swollen and painful. She doesn't remember falling, and there is no other bruising etc.
She saw the doctor who sent her for an x-ray. They will get the result tomorrow.
They have arranged for her to have an ECG today, because of the palpitations.
She was on medication when at home to slow her heart beat down.
I need to check if she is still on those tablets.
I'll go in tomorrow if it isn't too windy, but can phone them if I can't go.

Phew, it is still there, it probably weighed too much for the plane :-D

I am sorry to read that the Duchess has hurt her self and is having palpitations, I hope that she is OK. What did she do to hurt her hand?

Tecwyn Report 5 Mar 2015 18:52

Not much point putting a table lamp in a tent :-D

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 5 Mar 2015 17:46

Or maybe it is their suitcase, I better go and check

I have been there lots of times, it is very interesting. We even too Sue and her OH there.

We bought a mouse man table lamp a couple of years ago, it cost a fortune. It is in Sue's bedroom

Maybe someone should buy the councillor a watch.
Maybe the Lord Lieutenant should have reminded him of the timetable. :-|

Been watching a programme about a property search in North Yorkshire.
They visited the Robert Thompson Mouseman workshops.
I found it very interesting.
Some of the furniture in this house is from the 20s/30s end of the Arts and Crafts period.
Made in High Wycombe that was a centre of the Arts and Crafts Movement.
I have a book here about the Movement, and Robert Thompson has a chapter to himself.
Very interesting...........Have you been there?

I don't think it was his fault, it was the local councillor who started it early. There were lots of people there, but many turning up and missing it.

I have been next door baby sitting for most of the afternoon while his mum had a hospital appointment. He was asleep, so I just read my book

I think a letter of complaint and disappointment sent directly to the Lord Lieutenant and the Mayor is required.
Also to the local paper.

They probably assumed that nobody would turn up, so got it over with as soon as the dignitaries arrived.

It hardly encourages local people to participate in local events.
Extremely bad mannered and inconsiderate of people in high office, who should know better.

I am a bit annoyed along with quite a few other people. I went along to a presentation of a copy of the Magna Carta by the Lord Lieutenant of the county to the town mayor. Well publicised, gather on the site of the old castle at 9.45 for a ceremony starting at ten. I was there before five to, only to find that it had all happened. There were lots of people complaining as they had bothered to turn out on a cold morning

There are all sorts of things going on throughout the year, including A large event in June to celebrate the signing, they will be a medieval festival.
