Maybe future generations will lose the power of speech with so many alternative ways to communicate :-0

Maybe they were texting to each other and conversing that way

They ban cell phones and talking ........ but these guys were texting, and that is soooooooooooo ubiquitous these days :-|

You 'd have to have supersonic eyesight Linda :-D

It's a terrible thing to be watched, especially by neighbours :-D

Hello Sylvia, I am surprised the restaurant doesn't ban mobiles at the table

I would have told on you Tsc if you had gone out

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 7 Mar 2015 21:14

Hello Sylvia,

The restaurant sounds good - glad that you enjoyed your dinner.

I have often noticed couples in a bar or pub, totally ignoring each other.
Very sad - Surely they could do that at home - for free :-D

It was a dull overcast day here on the coast, although I know that inland had a sunny day - we had sea fog.

Tecwyn Report 7 Mar 2015 21:08

I may not be available to lunch out next Sunday :-D

Repotting was the nearest I could manage at resting.

Didn't dare go gardening in case the neighbour next door but one spotted me :-D

I just can't win :-(

Hi Tec and Linda

Oh dear, Linda ............... I hope the 2 sickies get better fast, and that you don't have to make the trip to London tomorrow.

It's another nice sunby day here, and very warm. Yesterday got sunny in the afternoon after being cloudy all morning.

We went out for dinner last night at our favourite place, and took a couple of friends as a thank you for several things the husband has done for OH.

We all had lovely meals ........ OH and I had bison short ribs with roasted parsnips. It's such good food, expensive, but they are so unpretentious

I was a bit gob smacked when I went to the loo .......... on the way back to our table, I saw a young couple at a table in the upper section, sitting side by side, each with their smartphone, clicking away and paying no attention to each other.

I was almost bursting with laughter by the time I got to the bottom of the short flight of steps ............ both the hostess and maitre d' looked at me quizzically. When told .......... they said "They've been like that ever since they came in". :-0

Then the maitre d' said "we get quite a lot like that".

Can you imagine going to one of the top restaurants in any town, with your partner ........ and sitting there paying no attention to each other OR to the food that you're paying quite a lot of money for????? :-S :-S :-S :-S

Oh well, you can go somewhere else next Sunday :-D
Re potting plants does not count as sitting resting :-|

Tecwyn Report 7 Mar 2015 21:01

I spent the afternoon pottering in the porch with my pot plants. Some of them need re-potting, and feeding, triggering them into life for the summer.

I did drink gallons of water............................. :-D

Lucky you, having a GR contact. Can't remember when I last had one, must be two years or more.

I thought that tomorrow was the anniversary of my release from incarceration, but it's next Sunday. So my celebratory lunch out is under false pretences :-D

LindainHerriotCountry Report 7 Mar 2015 20:44

I would have to get the train at 1.30, so there is time for them to recover, or I hope so anyway

I hope you have had a lazy day with lots of water :-D

I did some housework this afternoon and made some bread. My new bread maker is turning out excellent loaves

I got a contact from GR today, the first one for ages. It is in my core line but I am not convinced she has it all correct

Tecwyn Report 7 Mar 2015 20:35

Oh dear.............. :-(

I too hope that Eve and Esme make a quick recovery.

With any luck it may just be a 24 hour bug that passes quickly.
You could well arrive to discover that they are better.

The main thing being that they get better quickly, but it would be hard for you to go all that way only to discover you weren't really needed after all.

Hope you get good news in the morning.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 7 Mar 2015 20:07

Oh oh I might have to go to London tomorrow to tend to two sick babies :-(

Eve is very hot and has just been sick, Esme inst very well either :-(

I have a dental check up on Tuesday morning, but I can cancel that I suppose

My daughter will let me know tomorrow morning if I am needed

I am crossing my fingers that they make a miraculous recovery overnight

Good to see you Tec, I have kept looking in

I thought you were thinking about Monday, but didn't ask.

OH is watching football focus while we have lunch. We went to the market square for the usual shopping this morning.

I am half way through cleaning the gas hob in the kitchen, it needs dismantling from time to time. The oven could do with a clean as well, but I might save that for another day

Tecwyn Report 7 Mar 2015 12:36

I'm sure that the cousins will have had a great fun day together, and the adults too.
I hope the weather is being kind to them.

I mentioned on the thread last night that I had to be out early today - that was a senior moment - :-(
I was thinking of Monday.
Maybe it is time they took me away :-D

It is very overcast here today, but no wind.
