I suppose the bug will have to run its course, as yours did.
Maybe with summer coming you'll both be free of colds hopefully.

He wasn't that bad this morning, in fact he isn't that bad tonight. He will probably get worse

It was very brave, or very foolish of your OH to go on his walk, even if he was the leader :-(
Surely he is allowed to be unwell.

I am sorry your leg is hurting Tec, I hope it improves

I have been tending to OH. Of course I shared my bug with him Sylvia

Enjoy your coffee Sylvia,

Save me some trifle please :-D

Hello Sylvia,

That was a good idea with the grading of your reading glasses for using the computer.
I tend to use my varifocals on the laptop, but my reading glasses seem to work just as well.
I had transition lenses before, that darken in bright light, sunshine, but they annoyed me, so have gone for plain lenses this time.
The transitions didn't clear fast enough when coming indoors out of bright sunshine.

we're going for coffee early today ..........

OH is making 2 big trifles, and we are expecting a friend to arrive around 3-3:30 pm

It's the annual Opera Ball tomorrow night, and she is going with us ................ the major fundraiser for the Student Opera programme.

We have a catered meal .............. but the students who entertain us have to provide their own pot-luck meal to eat back stage. It has become something of a tradition that OH takes 2 of his trifles :-)

Hi Tec

I have "computer glasses" ................ the dispensing people adapt the reading prescription so that it grades from reading at the bottom through a longer distance to basically no prescription at the top.

I found I couldn't see the computer screen when I was wearing my reading glasses ............. it was the wrong distance.

The ophthalmologist couldn't, or didn't want to, understand what I was talking about the next time I went for a test ....................... the dispensing guy suggested this solution. It works beautifully!

Sorry to hear that your leg was painful this morning :-( <3 <3

Another lovely day here.

I went for an eye test this morning, then chose my new frames. I am having a pair of varifocals, and separate reading glasses.
When I said I used the laptop frequently, it was suggested I had an anti-glare coating on the lense.
That was an extra £40 of course. Now a dent in my bank balance :-

Intended to visit the Duchess after the eye test, but my leg was so painful, and I just wanted to go home. Couldn't be bothered with the bits of shopping I wanted either.
Hopefully, I will visit tomorrow after the nurse has been.
Daughter and SIL were there on Sunday and she was fine.

Sylvia - I couldn't cope with all that snow :-0

Sorry that your OH now has the bug. Poor man has only just got over the last one.
Hopefully you now feel well enough tend the sick. Tea and sympathy

Hello Sylvia, I am glad it is not snowing here

OH has taken to his sick bed with a sore throat, runny nose and aching all over. He had to go walking today because he was the walk leader, but he went to bed as soon as he came home

morning all!

it's raining heavily here :-(

but nothing like the 50+ cm of snow that my daughter had at her house in the Maritimes, from Tuesday night through yesterday

She snowshoed much of the way to the ferry terminal this morning so she could go to work. She said it was great snow shoeing on fresh snow .............. but it was tiring!

No transit services. I guess her OH got a snow day off school :-)

I never waste water unnecessarily, although we have one of the highest rainfall in the UK.
I'm sure it it was going through a meter I would be even more careful.

Have to see if a meter can be fitted here.

Well I'm off to bed now, up early in the morning.

Hope your head is better tomorrow - sleep well Linda,

Enjoy your day Sue,

Goodnight,
Tec :-)

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 18 Mar 2015 22:36

We have a meter, no choice as it is a new house. Our bills are low even though we have a dish washer. It makes you think about not wasting water. we collect water from the roof in barrels to wash the car and water the garden. We have aerator heads on the taps, I never leave the tap running while I brush my teeth etc. It is easy to get into the habit of saving water

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 18 Mar 2015 22:31

Yes I know - sad isn't it :-D

I applied for a water meter today. My water bill for this year is £550. I think that is a lot of money in the circumstances.

Paying the same as maybe a family of six might pay.

Hopefully it will be cheaper on a meter.
