Hello Tec , Bandit is certainly seeking more attention from us , it is extra strange for her I suppose as she has never been an " only " dog , always had her Mum and Dad as backup , never went through the trauma of being taken away from them as a pup having been born into the household .
At least she still has the cats as companions :-)

Well done on the old pots Sue , one can never have to many :-D

I think your right that they mourn , Bandit does do an awful lot of sniffing when I take her out , as if she is trying to catch his scent trail :-(

I'm pleased you caught a glimpse of the eclipse Linda :-)

Hello Amanda - Thank you, maybe I can go somewhere later in the summer when things are better.

We were very lucky with the eclipse here - clear blue sky. The temperature dropped dramatically. Didn't go as dark as the 1999 eclipse.

It is bound to seem very strange without Milo around. It was unbearable when Ianto went, but we had no other pets then.
Good idea to break Bandit's routine, that will help to stimulate her. I believe dogs do grieve - but they soon get over it with a lot of love and attention.

I gave my daughter some pots so I'm only replacing them Linda :-P

Hello Amanda :-). I do believe dogs mourn for their companions. When we lost our beautiful old border collie little Molly mourned for awhile. She was off her food and would roam the yrs looking for her. It was heartbreaking to watch :-(

It was cloudy here Amanda, but a gap came in the clouds just at the right time, so we saw it

Changing routine seems to be a good idea for you as well Amanda

I think Sue is aiming to cover her whole lawn with pots and do away with the grass

Tecwyn Report 21 Mar 2015 22:31

More pots Sue? Good for you :-D

Old gardening books are very interesting, especially, as you say, the old illustrations.
Some of the old methods are still the best :-)

Hello everyone ,

Tec , I am so sorry to hear that something has gone awry with your leg , I do hope that you are feeling much better soon . It is sad that you have to miss your trip to London but your health comes first .

Linda , it's good to see that you are feeling better , I hope your OH is soon over the bad throat .

Hello Persie , Sue and Sylvia :-)

The eclipse was a total washout here , completely grey , cloud obscured sky . The temperature dropped and it went very dull ..............then the sun came out and it was a splendid afternoon ........lol

We are slowly adjusting to Milos absence , the house seems empty and far to quiet , as he had taken to barking quite a lot towards the end . Bandit seems depressed but then I could be reading to much into her sad face .
I decided to change her routine , as in splitting her food into two meals a day instead of the usual one and I'm trying to get her out most days for a walk , we had slacked rather on the walks as it was getting to much for the old boy .

Tec - I bought 3 beautiful old terracotta pots at a deceased estate sale yesterday morning. Also a pile of old gardening books :-). The books are old fashioned but I love the old illustrations.

Just unfortunate Sue - rather annoying that I should get unwell now, just before my trip, but that's life - as they say.
There will be other times hopefully. :-)

SueMaid Report 21 Mar 2015 22:08

I'm glad you and OH and feeling much better, Linda but Tec - what a worry you are :-(

I'm so sorry you are going to have to miss your London trip. I know how much you were looking forward to it Tec.

Tecwyn Report 21 Mar 2015 22:06

Linda - having unpacked my bag after last weeks short stay, I have yet to pack it again :-) not forgetting my medication of course.
Mobile, and tablet, book, transistor radio to keep me sane. :-D

I can't watch surgeons at work on tv.
There is no doubt that surgeon saved my life last year, so I have every faith in him, whatever he decides.
