SylviaInCanada Report 24 Mar 2015 23:24

OH trenched and planted 3 rows of potatoes on Saturday and Sunday

he's doing another row now.

he usually tries to get the veggie garden done by the end of March.

Most parts of Canada have to wait until May ................ the 24th of May holiday (now changed to 3rd Monday in May) was the traditional time for farmers and gardeners to start their seeding and sowing.

Bye Sue - Enjoy your day,
Linda will keep you informed if I am detained.

Bye Sylvia

Goodnight,
Tec.

SueMaid Report 24 Mar 2015 22:53

Goodnight Linda - sleep well <3

I totally agree Tec. I do want to know what has caused the crash and what the airlines can learn from these tragedies but I can only imagine the shock and grief the families are suffering. I don't need to see the poor families.

I must be off Tec - I have quite a few things to do today.

Goodnight - I hope you can get some sleep. I will be thinking of you <3

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 24 Mar 2015 22:46

Goodnight Linda, sleep well. I will be in touch.

Sue - I understand that these things need reporting, but why do all the media feel the need to be their?
What do they hope to see?
- distraught people, and a glimpse of wreckage.

I don't think the majority of people want to see this. Their will always be the goulish people. The type that gawp at a road smash, causing more problems.

The bereaved have enough to cope with without this intrusion into their grief.
It doesn't make anyone feel any better.

I am off to bed now

I hope all goes well tomorrow Tec, I shall await your text

Have a nice autumnal day Sue

Enjoy your coffee Sylvia

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 24 Mar 2015 22:39

I agree, Tec. The news program I'm watching seems to be focussing on the distraught families - the cameras almost in their faces :-( Surely the public have no wish to see this.....or do they?

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 24 Mar 2015 22:26

I was just thinking Sue- how awful that the place is already crawling with the media, film crews, broadcasters, and all the rest.

It is an intrusion, quite sickening.

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 24 Mar 2015 22:22

I'm just watching the news now. Such dreadful news. Watching the poor relatives in their grief seems such an invasion of their privacy :-(

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 24 Mar 2015 22:14

Nothing too painfull then :-)

Dreadful news of the air crash in the French Alps :-0

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 24 Mar 2015 22:11

It was just a routine check up and hygienist appointment and all was well

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 24 Mar 2015 22:09

I hope you had a nice lunch that compensated for having to go to the dentist.

We had a very mixed day of sunshine, heavy showers, and hailstones this afternoon

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 24 Mar 2015 22:07

It is going to be very cold overnight again. It has been an odd day, sunny but cold, then heavy rain, just as I went to the dentist of course. It was just before lunchtime so OH came and picked me up and we went out for lunch

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 24 Mar 2015 22:05

We hardly ever get a severe frost here Sue - just a light covering on the car windscreens.

Where my daughter lives in Shropshire is a real frost pocket. She has to scrape the windscreen nearly every day. The frost often lasts all day, into the next.

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 24 Mar 2015 22:00

Well Amanda lives in the driest part of the UK, with the longest hours of sunshine.

Cold and windy off the North Sea in winter though.

a good growing area

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 24 Mar 2015 21:59

Thankfully we don't have to worry about frosts in the area we live in.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 24 Mar 2015 21:57

I know, it is just odd when you know Amanda has had stuff planted out for ages

Tecwyn

Tecwyn Report 24 Mar 2015 21:55

The things will soon catch up Linda, if planted after Easter. Might be better for them anyway due to late frosts.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 24 Mar 2015 21:52

OH is hoping for spring, he was going to plant some things out on the allotment today, but we had a hard frost last night. We are away next week, so they will have to wait until after Easter
