It is good that Esme was able to go into a hospital nearer home, and so much better to have her own room. Open wards are so noisy, especially at night.

Sad that your daughter's birthday plans are cancelled.
I know just how she feels. I also had plans for this weekend - never mind :-(

I expect Eve is excited about seeing you both tomorrow :-)

Hello Tec, I hope you have some stronger painkillers to knock you out so you can get some rest

Esme is not at all well, she has some sort of infection. She may have whooping cough, she had a blood test for that on Thursday, but they haven't got the results yet. She has had so many antibiotics in the last month, but they didn't work She has had the correct type for whooping cough since Wednesday and my daughter said that she was a bit better this morning, but now she has some sort of lesions in the nappy area, so they have taken her in for intravenous antibiotics

She is in the local hospital which is much better than the large main one some distance away As she may be infectious, they have put her in a single room which is much better for my daughter, they also have slide out chairs which make fairly tolerable beds for the parents

Eve and her daddy have just left to go home, they phoned us just before they were leaving. eve is pleased that we are going down tomorrow. I have told her that we will make a cake and a party for her mummy when Esme comes home

Hello Amanda,

Thank you - it is good to be back, if only briefly.
At least no one is chasing me with needles and flying around corridors with me in a bed being whisked off here and there every five minutes :-D

Hello everyone .

Linda , I am so sorry to hear that Esme is unwell and had to be admitted to hospital . I do hope that she is soon feeling better and that the antibiotics do their work swiftly .

Tec , it is good to see you back . I hope you can soon have the operation that you need , it sounds like a big job :-(

Hello, :-)

I am very sorry to see that little Esme has gone into hospital. I hope the anti biotics work quickly for her.
It does rather put my problems into perspective when I hear of a child so young with so many problems.
Get well soon Esme <3

Yes I am home, for the time being. The surgeon has done all the tests and scans for the operation. It couldn't take place today, as he needs five hours theatre time, that wasn't available at such short notice. As he is in America next week the operation is now scheduled for after Easter when he returns.
Briefly, I am having the veins from my arms put into my leg to bypass the leg arteries that are blocked and in very poor shape.

It made no sense for me to lie in hospital for over Easter, when I could rest in the comfort of my own home.
My daughter is here, and being very helpful as I am not very mobile.
The nurse called this afternoon to dress the ulcer that is now very painful, and my leg is very swollen. The GP has increased painkillers.

In case of emergency I can return to hospital at any time, and another surgeon can operate if necessary, although I would prefer the surgeon I know and trust to do it.

No Tec yet? Just in case he doesn't look in, he is home with his daughter looking after him

I am sure he will explain all when he arrives.

It is my daughters birthday today, they were supposed to be going to the theatre tonight while a friend babysat, but because Esme is ill, the plan changed. My daughter and friend were going to go instead so that Esme's dad would stay with her. Even more plan change because Esme has now been admitted to hospital to have intravenous antibiotics, so the friend has been given the tickets and my daughter is staying with Esme of course.

We were going on Sunday, but we will go tomorrow instead. The plumber is supposed to be coming first thing to fit a new part to the boiler, so we will go as soon as he leaves

I think that thread was asking a genuine question .................

was there a time limit that obituary threads should remain pinned at the top of the Board.

after all, unpinning them does not mean that the thread is junked ................. it can always be found in My Threads if anyone really wants to read or post on it again.

I noticed it had gone Sue, I agree that it it time that both Beronas thread and BC's should be unstickied

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 26 Mar 2015 21:54

That will be good Linda.

You may have noticed Berona's thread has been taken down. I sent an email to the team and they sent a very nice email back. The thread didn't need to be there anymore and I didn't like that a couple of people made a comment about 'one thread' being there since the end of last year.

Temporarily, his surgeon is away next week, so having had the tests, he has been sent home, then will go back again for the operation. at least that is what I think has happened.

We will get the complete story when he logs in

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 26 Mar 2015 20:43

Tec's home?????????????

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 26 Mar 2015 20:13

Welcome home Tec, if only as a temporary measure :-D

You would think the surgeon would have cancelled his trip next week, so he could operate on you. Some people have no consideration.
