Well he certainly is a fighter and a survivor. Looking forward to his return on this thread and Shaun's one.

I am not sure how they teach you to get from bed to wheelchair, but I watched one chap do it.. like Tec he lost one leg and then the other. I think your arms taking your weight become incredibly strong.. I can't even manage crutches properly. :-S

He certainly does have grit and determination Amanda. :-)

I wish I had just a bit of his get up and go.

He is doing remarkably well after such a major operation, but it is going to take time until he is feeling strong again

I'v just read Shaun's message on the Welsh thread

how great that Tec is feeling so well so soon. .......... still a long way to go, but he can do it <3 <3 <3 <3

LindainHerriotCountry Report 15 Apr 2015 19:44

Shaun asked me to copy this across for him as he was having trouble doing it

I had a quick word with Tec earlier; he would like to thank everyone for their love and support and group hugs also for the many messages passed on by Linda which he is overwhelmed with.

He also said once he is back home and on the computer he will personally thank you all. Tec went on to say that he was sitting out in is chair but quite sore from the surgery.

STILL SENDING LOADS OF HUGS YOUR WAY TEC

Like I have said it was just a quickie, as it would not have been fare to keep him on the line for long, after what he has gone through, it’s no joke listening to someone on the phone when you’re not up to it.

Thank goodness you heard Linda..
I kept looking in to see if there was any news and didn't see this last night as was on phone with granddaughter for a long time....
Glad it's just below knee.he is certainly a fighter.
I thought it would affect his arms as well if they'd tried to take veins, but he can obviously type a bit...
Love and more hugs

Just got another text in which he asks me to give his love to everyone and that the physio had just arrived

He is planning to be back on GR, but there is no wifi in the hospital he is in, his phone is not a smartphone,so he cant get on line that way.
Last time he couldn't get back on line until he moved to the local hospital to recuperate and then it was only because a friendly porter plugged his laptop into the hospital internet system ,all very hush hush. There was no mobile signal there,so he couldn't send texts

Good morning everyone

I had a text from Tec last night in reply to mine.I told him about the group hug

It just said "Feeling stronger today. Love to everyone XXX"

It is amazing that he is able to do that when he must be full of morphine. I sent him a long message this morning telling him all about the love on GR all for him

I just got half a reply from him saying

"Please give my l"

Obviously he is still spaced out and not managing his phone very well, so I will wait until his head is a bit clearer. I am just so relieved that he is this well so soon

Hi Everyone :-) :-) <3

Just popping in quickly to say what great news about Tec :-) <3

I know that you will all have been very worried about him, as you are all very close on the Aussie thread.

It's a big relief that the operation went well. Tec's positivity and determination no doubt has helped him, and will continue to help him recover. :-)

Thank You Linda for keeping us all informed :-)

Love Jem <3

LindainHerriotCountry Report 14 Apr 2015 21:51

Sorry for the short post, I was out and about with my not so smart phone which is ready for replacement so on a permanent go slow

I got a text from Tec this evening which had been sent early this afternoon, where it had been I don't know. The content was actually for his next door neighbour, I guess he must be a bit confused. I rang her and she had seen his brother and sister in law who had come to the house to collect his wheelchair.

They said that it had gone well and this time it was below the knee which means it will be much easier for him afterwards. The hospital want him own wheelchair because they are going to teach him how to transfer into it.

That is all I know for now, but if he was sending a text, that is much better than last time when he was out of it for days

It went well, below the knee this time. His brother has collected his wheelchair from home so theY can teach him to transfer into it.
