People are walking round in shorts, but I think it is a bit rash. It was chilly this morning, but I was too hot in a jumper this afternoon

Another day over, so bed time now and bacon sarnies to look forward to in the morning

Goodnight

I think ours is for real .........

...... we haven't had any really cold temperatures since New Year, our early spring flowers appeared before the end of January. And we had very warm February and March.

Of course ........ I am only talking about the extreme southwest corner of BC :-)

Naturally, being British ................ I have not packed away ALL my winter clothes :-D

It is just a false spring, too early to get my legs out for the summer

SylviaInCanada Report 18 Apr 2015 22:03

it's lovely and sunny here ........... and warm!

I had OH bring up one of my boxes of summer clothes on Thursday, it was so warm.

I'm now wearing spring tops and skirts :-)

Hello Amanda, we haven't had much rain at all, but at least things are finally starting to show through on the allotment

Persie , I am horrified that your Mum encouraged you to go on that ledge :-0 I'm glad you lived to tell the tale !

I was chatting to Diane on facebook messages last night . She hadn't been aware of Tecs situation and has asked me to " send cyber hugs and positive thoughts to him " , she , like all of us , is hoping he makes a full and speedy recovery . <3

It has been bright and sunny here today but with an unpleasant cold wind , coming straight off the north sea :-| we need some rain !

Well you lived to tell the tale thank goodness.

It is a lovely day here, but I have just done a pole of ironing. A shame to be indoors, but it needed doing.

I haven't had a reply from Tec to my texts last night and this morning. I tried to ring but his phone is off. I know that they were waiting for a bed in the local hospital so I am hoping it means that he has gone there. It is in the shadow of the mountain so had no mobile signal. I have sent a message to his daughter, so will have to wait until she replies

Well she did.. and I did try to crawl but ended up standing up by the drainpipe and clinging myself along to the next window.. I have no idea now how I managed it. It wasn't very far, and I think it wasn't a drainpipe it was a bit jutting out.

I cant believe your mother got you to do that.

Persephone

Persephone Report 17 Apr 2015 12:11

Mind you I was the same.. even when I was older, could jump out my bedroom window ..and other places..

When I was marching aged 15 staying at a Hotel, there was all the usual carry on with your bed getting apple pied etc. The keys we had to our rooms opened other rooms except Mary the leader's room.. so my mother the team chaperone, got me to go out her bedroom window and crawl along this narrow ledge and go in through Mary's next door and apple pie her bed and then come out the door. This was up stairs and the ledge was so narrow, could not crawl along it I had to cling to the building.. I went back years later and looked up and could not believe I had done that.

I know what you mean about jumping. Eve thinks she can fly. She stands on the couch and jumps across the room, only she is getting too good at it. She went to far and whacked her arm on a piece of furniture

It is amazing what you can pick up on e-bay.. we have Trade me .. my granddaughter wanted a couch for her bedroom and they got one of those futon ones for $30.. and the cushion is in good nick and clean..

I bought August a tent a couple of years back, it has two sections to it with a joining tunnel.

He also has a huge blow up paddling pool, it is like a whale the tail curls over the top. He loves going to the proper baths and enjoys jumping in and making a splash. Jumping has been his thing for quite some time now and he got rather upset with me when I lifted him off the bottom step of the bus as it was quite a long way down the way the road concaved.. I had spoilt his jump. Us Nanas don't always get it right. I was surprised at the time as he was just two years old.

I can just imagine you and your hubby having fun on your play ground Linda :-D

My pond isn't very big at all but I was more concerned that he may have whacked his head on an obstacle during his unintended decent . Now I need a new fence :-|

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 16 Apr 2015 22:57

Goodness how deep is your pond Amanda, or cant he swim :-D

It has not been warm here, but never mind, it is early yet

We just went to collect a swing for the garden, Eve for the use of. It is a bit rusty, but OH will tart it up and she will be delighted. It cost a massive £2.70 on Ebay, so I am very pleased with it

I also bought a pop up princess play tent as well, that arrived today. I have my eye on a slide as well, we are turning the gen into a playground for her

Hello Sue :-D

It certainly sounds like positive news regarding our Tec . It will be lovely to have him back online when he is moved to the local hospital . It will take him some time to recover and adjust to his situation but if anyone can overcome the problems it will be him <3

We have been having a mini heatwave here in Norfolk , yesterday and Tuesday where really hot days for the time of year but today it is back to normal .
My OH nearly fell in our pond on Tuesday :-0 he was leaning over , doing something to the pond pump when the fence snapped in half , I was at the living room window and am amazed to find I can still actually run ! I had thought he had gone in head first but by the time I reached him he was doubled over , laughing and just had one soaking wet sleeve ........phew .

Hope you and yours are all well x

I have just had a very quick word with Tec. He had a bad night with phantom pains, but today they have removed all the drains and drips which he is pleased about. He was waiting for his morphine, so I kept it really short.

He wanted me to tell everyone that he is thinking about them. I had time to tell him about all the tears, good wishes and group hug and he was amazed that people could care so much

He hopes to get transferred back to the local hospital fairly quickly this time where he can get his little office set up in the corner again so he can get online

It was lovely to hear him, he was very positive but he did sound groggy which is only to be expected
