I'd like to see how the children are dressed when they're casual at home

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 1 Oct 2016 07:59

The Royals seemed to really enjoy themselves and the children looked so cute although dressed rather old fashioned.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 1 Oct 2016 07:39

Phew, I wonder who I bought the rude card for then?

I have seen some of the news coverage, how do they get those children looking so pristine

SylviaInCanada Report 1 Oct 2016 05:09

we've had another 2 lovely Fall days ............ sunny in the daytime, with a little bit of fog in the early morning.

The Royals leave tomorrow.

Glad you're having a lovely time in Cyprus.

Sue ..... Spring should be with you soon

SueMaid Report 1 Oct 2016 01:32

I'm pleased you are enjoying yourselves. Here it's cold and blowing a gale.

The card wasn't insulting at all :-0

LindainHerriotCountry Report 30 Sep 2016 16:20

You are most welcome, err, I have forgotten what it was. It wasnt an insulting one was it?

We are having a relaxing time, 30 degrees, lots of nice food and wine. I have done aqua fit each morning, but I don't think that will burn off all the calories

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 29 Sep 2016 03:53

I'm glad you have that sorted....now you can relax. Thank you for my lovely card <3

It all got booked eventually, so I can forget about it for a while.

I have had a busy day, taking two old ladies to doctors appointments, then cinema duty tonight.

We need to leave about 6am tomorrow, but at least we will soon be in the sun

There's always one, Linda :-(. I would give up too. It will be lovely and warm for you both.

Sylvia - in Summer I generally wear what I call Bali clothes. Soft pants, skirts and flowing dresses. Perfect for our warm to hot and humid days.

LindainHerriotCountry Report 25 Sep 2016 18:17

We are off to Cyprus, so it will be nice and warm.

Latest in the head banging. The large place we decided on had the wrong price on the internet, so is too expensive. Having spent a couple of weeks searching for a large house, there are non available within the penny pinching head bangers budget.

So,we are now looking at getting two city apartments on a train line for the other grandparents. We have done this twice before and it worked well So I have spent most of the day searching for somewhere suitable. I found somewhere which gave us one two bedroomed apartment and another bigger two bed apartment where one of the bedrooms is a family room.Ideal, we can all fit in. The bigger apartment is more expensive, but we don't mind. Only head banger is now stressing because she can't possibly share an apartment with her mother as she can't get on with her!

So now, flipping nuisance has to go in the big apartment, only she is only staying for two nights, so we will all have to absorb the cost of the room between us for when she is not there.

We have suggesting averaging it all out, which means both sets of grandparents will end up paying £44 extra each just because of the looper. I am not sure how they are going to pitch the arrangements to the other grandparents, At this stage I give up

Hi

Definitely autumnal here!

OH has already changed his short sleeved shirts for long sleeves, and I'm in the process of changing sweaters over.

I wear skirts all year round, except if we have a good drop of snow, then I will go to trousers .............. my skirts are all least to the bottom of my calf, so too much snow means I get wet hems even wearing boots :-D

I now only have about 3 pairs of pants ......... 1 pair of jeans left over from our cabin days in case it absolutely pours with rain in summer, and 1 pair of grey lined and a pair of grey unlined that I wear in winter.

Happens every year Linda. Perhaps go ahead with what everyone wants and this person can fit in...or not.

Remind me where you are off to? Somewhere warm I would think :-D

It is Dec idly autumnal today, but I am keeping my legs out until Wednesday when we go on holiday. Once we get back, it will be jeans and jumper time.

I have been going through the annual banging of the head on the wall charade which is organising Xmas. As usual one person will not make up her mind, she does it every year. We have decided to rent a big house, but because of her, we have lost all the best ones. The annoying thing is that she will only come for one or two nights at the most, so that the rest of us have to pay for the room she won't be occupying for the nights she won't be there.

We have decided on somewhere in an a completely different area and wanted to book it this afternoon but of course she isn't answering her home phone or mobile.

Indeed I do remember the garden centre :-)

I couldn't bear not to wash my hair for that long.

I can't wait for daylight saving...I love the long evenings although they aren't as long as UK evenings. The days are warming up here although still cold at night. OH has been busy doing various maintenance stuff around the house and garden as well as giving the garage a good clean out. He has got rid of old cupboards that he used for storage and replaced them with metal shelves and plastic tubs. The driveway was a mess for a couple of days but all is back to normal now and OH is very pleased :-D

LindainHerriotCountry Report 22 Sep 2016 18:07

I don't think that I would like that either Sylvia.

It is the first day of autumn, but it has been a lovely day here, I just did some housework, but have had an easy day otherwise.

We went for lunch at the garden centre ( Sue will remember it). When we got home we had missed a parcel delivery, but they had left the large box on the front doorstep. It is fairly sheltered, but not secure, somI am a bit annoyed about it. At least I didn't have to rearrange it and it is something we need before we go away next week, so I should be grateful for them abandoning it

the mother would get a good rest ........ but I hate the thought of being unable to shower or wash my hair for a month.

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 21 Sep 2016 01:52

Very odd. When my daughter came out of hospital with the twins she begged me to take them all out for coffee. So there we were trundling a toddler, very new babies and a daughter who couldn't drive after a caesarean and grandma at a cafe having coffee and cake :-D Stay home for a month....I think not.

Strange customs, on the other hand just concentrating on the baby for the first few weeks would be a good thing

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 20 Sep 2016 22:54

it seems to be true .......

......... and includes strictly speaking, no showers, no hair washing, wearing socks at all times, keeping warm.

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 20 Sep 2016 22:46

true!!!

The last time, the husband and the eldest child brought the new baby to our door to show us. He made a comment that his wife would not be leaving the house for a month

It turns out that this could be a Chinese tradition .............. I heard something on the radio the other day about our late Prime Minister Pierre Elliot Trudeau visiting China back in the 1970s with his wife who was 8 months pregnant at the time, and the stir that this caused over there. It was mentioned that Chinese women then stayed indoors for 40 days and ate only eggs.

I must check this out!!

But meanwhile, it will be interesting to see if V does the same thing this time.
