Persephone Report 8 May 2015 23:05

I went and had my flu injection yesterday, so himself will have to hang the washing out, my arm is not happy with too much movement and definitely does not like being raised.

On the way back to Huntly the motorway was packed where two motorways link up, this was before 2pm. We turned off and went down a back road which whilst busy gets you down a bit quicker and then you can go back on to the motorway again, by which time a lot of people have left it. This busy single lane each way had a bull dog trotting down in the middle of the road, so it was either stop or hit it. It then ran out into the traffic coming the other way. We pulled over a bit further down and watched it trotting up and down and then I called the traffic people, they usually send out a patrol car to pick an animal up. While I was talking to him the dog went off the road a bit and over the little walk bridge along the side. I kept up communication with the centre and then he crossed in front of us into a little side area (it had a street name but only one house) and he had found his home and squished himself under the gate. I apologised to the chap on the phone, but said it was an accident waiting to happen as other vehicles had had to stop for him.

We decided to write a note to the home owners telling them about what the dog had been up to. Whilst writing a car arrived with two (shady) occupants. OH got out of the car and they got out and he told them about the dog. There was, no thank you, no smiles or any chat. One of them had his jacket on which displayed the patch back and front for the "Mongrel Mob" and of course their logo is a bull dog on some of the patches. A young woman then came out of the house to greet them, didn't come out when we arrived.

After we left, OH said to me police probably know who lives there because I had named the little street. I said yes, good thing we had not run the dog over and been to tell them, we may have come away battered and bruised (if lucky). Just hope no one saw us going in there, might have thought we were going in to collect our fix.

Enjoy is not quite the word I would use to describe sitting around in a physio department while my lady had her appointment.

I should have got them to do my knee while I was there :-D Anyway, it all went well and I even did a little detour for her so she could pick up a prescription, another satisfied customer

Thank you Linda for voting for me.. :-S

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 8 May 2015 00:12

it sounds as if Cameron will get back ............ with more seats than before, if what I'm reading on-line and hearing on the radio.

but SNP seems to be cleaning up in Scotland :-(

There was an provincial election in Alberta yesterday ............... the Conservatives had been running the province for over 40 years, usually with big majorities

HUGE upset ........... the NDP (our version of the UK Labour, but much more in the centre) is now in with a big majority while the Conservatives won only 10 seats and are not even the Official Opposition

And the voter turnout was the largest in years.

We have a Federal Election in October ...... so the Fed Conservatives are more than a little worried! Alberta is currently one of their strongholds

You should have come with her, I could have popped over to see you for that coffee

It's very chilly here this morning. I've put the heating on to take the chill out of the living room.

We took our sister in law to the airport yesterday. She is flying to Holland for her father's 80th birthday.

It tends to be the predictable results first, the interesting ones are in the middle of the night

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 7 May 2015 23:19

I don't mind watching the results come in. There are often some good discussions. It's the build up I don't like. We get the build up to the USA elections too.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 7 May 2015 23:15

The most interesting thing is looking at all the BBC graphics for the results,

Some areas aren't a surprise but we had state elections not long ago and there were some very staunch Liberal seats that switched to Labour. A good shake up for the government when that happens.

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 7 May 2015 22:58

Hello Sue

The first result is in, a labour win in Sunderland, but that is hardly a surprise

SueMaid

SueMaid Report 7 May 2015 22:51

Hello :-D

Sunny but oh so chilly here......brrrr.

Voting is compulsory here but I would vote anyway. Think of all those suffragettes who fought so hard for the right for women to vote :-0. Can't let them down :-)

LindainHerriotCountry

LindainHerriotCountry Report 7 May 2015 22:33

I have never missed a vote in my life even though it isn't compulsory here.

The poll closed half an hour ago, so the pundits are all talking about nothing now.

The race for the first result is between Sunderland and Newcastle, it should be very soon which is amazing

SylviaInCanada Report 7 May 2015 22:19

it might be interesting to see Persie in the Commons though :-D :-D

Persephone Report 7 May 2015 21:36

Thanks for keeping us up to date Linda.

FB keeps asking me if I'm a vote or do I want more information etc. It took a few mins for the penny to drop.. I have my place of residence in the UK _ no one else can see it. They stopped pin pointing me on a map after I did that.
