Diane...........It's been very cloudy and overcast here all day - had the lights on in the house most of the day. I spent some time in the garden, pruning back some shrubs that have grown too big than is good for them.
Sounds like you have a thoughtful son there. Little things like that can mean a lot when come home from work a bit frayed around the edges.

Our Aussie friends should be stirring soon, blinking into the daylight. Allan should be half way around Western Australia by now, in his pyjamas, green wellies, and Paddington's yellow hat. He'll soon be home.

Good evening/morning all

Tec, your timing is impeccable (could that describe a hen with lockjaw?). I've just put paddington back into his box with a slice of toast and marmalade.

Persephone, welcome to the thread. We seem to have been chasing each other on a few threads now. And yes, I do love curries!

Diane, I'm more than willing to do the ironing for you, but unfortunately you will have to deliver, and collect when done!

Sue, I like the bit about the birthday card. I thought that females were supposed to knock years of their age not add them!

Berona, I hope that the weather stays fine for your drives

Good Morning Allan,
No it's not my timing, I can't take credit for that. I'm tuned into that Videocam that follows you on those night walks of yours.
How else did I know about the Paddington outfit?.

Have you fed the cats yet? something else I watch!

Regards
Tec

Hi Allan
What's all this about Paddington Bear ?
Sorry as much as I'd love to send you all my ironing I can't afford the postal cost, so it look's like I'm stuck with it LOL

Tec your quite right, I often come home and get a cuppa off him, but he say's it's your turn mum next one we have, He is out of work at the moment so will help around the house, even doe's his own laundry, not many son's are that helpful are they.

Good evening Diane, Tec knows my guilty secret of why I go walking so early in the morning.

Tec, ironically, one of the cats has just thrown up in my computer room and before that one of the junior cats was sat on the computer desk, right in front of the screen playing with the mouse cord.

Shall give my OH a late anniversary present and ask her to clean up the mess!!

Allan...........Belated Happy Anniversary to you and your OH.

Don't be mean - clean up the mess yourself - after you've taken OH breakfast in bed, complete with red rose on the tray..........

That cat was not merely playing with the mouse cord, she was e-mailing all the other cats in the neighbourhood, telling them all about you, they are glued to their screens - riveted.......

Tec, today is Fathers day in Oz....did I get breakfast in bed Nooooo!

There I was at 3;00am thinking 'I'll just finish the big plate of bacon eggs and sausages that my OH is at this very moment cooking, before going for my walk"

A snore from the other side of the bed woke me from my pleasant dream!

We had a pleasant evening at the local watering hole. The kids payed for our meal as a present: if I had known that I would have chosen something expensive. I thought that I would be paying so went for something cheap...a bowl of soup and two spoons!

Good morning/evening everyone. It's so nice to know that these men enjoy ironing. I can't complain. My family knew I hated doing it, so they all did their own when they were grown up. Their father told them they had to! He believed that we should be like animals - train the little ones to do everything for themselves. It worked out well when I went back to work and it made life a lot easier for me. They even helped with the housework.

Of course, they were all still at home much later than many others. They all tried living out of home too, and found what it cost in money and labour - and they all came home again - but at least it was a learning process, so they understood and helped me.

Allan............ Don't be lazy clean it up yourself, my son would put you to shame LOL
So tell me, what is your guilty secret then ?

Your right Tec, my cat Flick has just got one of them e-mail's and said it was a Purrrrfect explernation of why the other cat was sick, Shussh don't tell Allan but it's just eaten Paddington's marmelade buttie's LOL

Where is that Sue Maid woman, not seen her about for a little while, she owes me money, so think she's avoiding me :)

Allan......What planet do you live on? - I don't think there is a woman in creation that would get up at 3am to cook you egg, bacon, and sausage.

That was nice of the kids to treat you both to a meal out. Hope you had a nice evening - I can't believe you are that tight - one bowl of soup and two spoons?
I feel really sorry for your good lady, the things that poor woman has to put up with - mine would have left me years ago if I'd given her the fare to go.

Good morning Berona...my guilty secret is out!

Hi Lynda

Diane, Tec is under the rather bizarre impression that when I venture forth on my early morning walks I am dressed in nothing more than my pj's, green wellies and a yellow Paddington Bear Sou'wester. Honestly!!

Well I suppose I did until the Police had a word with me about my attire

Good Morning Berona
Hi Lynda,

Berona.....My father couldn't or wouldn't, do anything in the house. But by the time I was 16 yrs old, my mother made sure that I could cook a meal, use the washing machine etc, clean the house and iron my own clothes.
I think she was probably thinking that one day I might get married, so was doing any future wife a favour.
When I went to sea I had to look after myself anyway.

Hi Berona
I totally agree with teaching them when there young, I got divorced when mine were little and brought them up to first tidy their toy's away before bed, then to clean their own bedroom's and also do little job's to earn their pocket money like, wash the dishes, polish their shoe's, and put their cloth's away after they were washed and ironed. My youngest son who is 24yrs will help with most thing's around the house when I need his help, make some girl a helpful husband one day, but then again he might do what a lot of block's do try to get out of it LOL

Allan
What other little secret's do you have that you are not telling us about LOL

Tec, what are you doing spying on Allan like that, [ send me a copy please ] I could do with a laugh.

Well, that's the cat's mess cleaned up. I'm surprised that all the cats viewing through my screen did not inform their respective owners

The rest of my day is planned: I am soon off to read the paper, then do the ironing. Later I shall start to prepare dinner I still refer to norther meals: breakfast, dinner and tea. Lunch is something you take to school) and then pack my case for my latest sojourn into the Great Southern for a couple of days.

Which means, of course, a couple of days' respite from my attempts at humour

Kiaora everyone,
The Haka is not really my thing.
We will be having lunch with the family for Father's day - we all go to McCafe how's that for cheap but hey it is a recession but at least it is not the depression when times were really really tough and they had rationing and coupons etc.
