There you all are expecting me to give Tec a telling off for being cheeky. Well I'm not......I'm very flattered:))
I know you said you would send some rain over Tec, but I didn't think you meant it. It's been raining nonstop for most of the day. The gardens are getting a good soaking especially the lawns.
I agree...it would be good if this thread was a long-standing one but you never know. I'm going to send all of you a PM with my email address. It is up to you if you want to use it but just in case this thread goes - I would start another one - we can still stay in contact.

Hi All,
Please, please send some rain up to Qld - about the middle of it will do. We sooooo need rain.
All the talk of heart attacks has reminded me about my Dad - he died in March, had a Sudden Cardiac Death as he was driving home from our place and hit a Kenworth truck. Hopefully he was already gone when he hit the truck, the Coroner said there were no brake marks or signs of evasive action. I was still having chemo at the time and when he left our place (his trip home is about 500 odd kms) he gave me an extra hug and told me to stay strong etc, so I had a really wonderful last memory of him. My poor sister however, had to identify him, as he was closer to her place, so her last memory of him is on a slab in the hospital. The hospital had put a rose on his chest. He was 80, so had done pretty well, considering he was a smoker and had only given up 10 years ago.
Anyway, enough of that, or I'll start blubbering (again).
I do hope Linda is ok and is having a break and that's why she hasn't been on for a while.
SueMaid, I know what you mean about feeling awful when someone has so much family history stuff that they are willing to share and you don't have much to share back.
Have a lovely day/night everyone - there are too many to mention and if I left anyone out, I'd feel dreadful, so my cheerios are to all.
Cheerio!!!

Ooh, seeing as I'm the first on page 111, I think I'll try for a Tec/Allan style witty remark. I must be 1, 1, 1derful.!!!!! Good? or Bad? I'm not hearing any guffaws - or chuckles either - must be bad!
Sigh

I'm laughing Alison......really I am:))
What a dreadful way to lose your father. I do remember reading a thread you had put up on the board awhile back. I think you must have been going through a bad time and I really felt for you. You spoke of your son also and I remember some very supportive people posted on your thread. Your last memory of him is wonderful and it must keep you going when things look bad. I'll be thinking of you on the weekend - it won't be easy but I'm sure he'll be with you.

Alison, as I seem to be one of the resident court jesters, may I offer you a trainee position......your 1,1,1, was good: it had me chuckling.
Sue, thanks for your PM: I cannot see anything on here which could cause the slightest offense to anyone (apart from my so called jokes!!) but i would hope that if anything did, then an immediate pm would see the thing deleted. I am sure that the people who do post on here regularly would do that and not feel slighted if told.
Long may the Thread prosper
Allan
And once again SueMaid, thanks for starting it

Nice to see Joy and Posh popping in to see us. Welcome!
Would you like to be Honorary Aussies? or perhaps Just Cousins? or do you already have connections here? and how do you like being called Pommies?
Anyway, hope you have a lovely day and please call in again - often!

Oh good Allan, although I think you and Tec are "the masters."!
Yes SueMaid, that thread was when my son said he was scared I was going to pass away. There were some really lovely messages, then someone put up a thread about how many threads were about "please pray for me/ I'm having a hard time etc" and I felt really self-conscious, so I deleted it.
We took on Dad's dog after he died. He had lost his last dog, last year and the vet had one who needed a home and he thought of Dad. Well, Dad being a softie took on Harry, who was 3. He'd only had Harry 6 months, when he died. Poor Harry was very depressed at first. He'd had 3 owners before Dad. His original owners became too elderly, then a young man had him for a few weeks, but decided he wanted a cattle dog and then the vet's receptionist looked after him. Now, he has a family of 4 and my intellectually impaired lad just adores him. Harry has his favourite though and that's my 18 year old lad. They sleep together. Harry's a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and he's gorgeous. I think he's happy and settled now!
Ooh, I've rambled on and on. If anything happens to this thread, we will demand that SueMaid start another one!
Have a great evening/day everyone. I'm going to scan and email some certificates to a distant rele I've just made contact with.
Ciao now

Alison, A ramble now and again is most enjoyable..happy memories of your father:
Carolee, many happy returns to your daughter; I remember 16, I seemed to stop growing old then. Reverse the digits an you have my age but mentally I'm still 16!
hi to Posh and Joyce

Alison, - don't ever be afraid to say what you think when you post on here. Now that my memory is jogged, I too, remember your thread about your son being worried about you. I may have done a reply too, not sure, but I do remember feeling for you.
If people don't like what they read on these boards, they should either stick to familiar threads, or not read any! For every one of them, there are ten more of us who are sympathetic and who want to help in any way, if possible.
I can imagine your dog. My son has one (named Charlie, of course) and he is a happy little soul - always playful - and I have some lovely photos of my grandson, not yet 3, with him.

Alison ramble all you like:) We're all "listening". It's good that we can all have a laugh together but I also like the fact that we can talk seriously.
I'm tired so I'm off to the "land of nod". Talk soon:))
