Allan - I do find that hard to believe, but knowing some of our laws, I have to remain scepticle.

Sue it would be more popular if we had the weather for it, all the supermarket's had sales on BBQ item's in july as the weather let us down and was not what had been prodicted for this year.

Diane my son is a Liverpool supporter:-)) He went to work wearing his Liverpool shirt that I bought him in Liverpool last year. He's had a grin on his face a mile wide because they beat Man U.

I am not fibbing - I actually did see horses hitched in the main street in Freemantle when I first visited in 1959 - really I did.

I must watch tv later, Ross Kemps Australian Tour
He a comedian on tour, but you get to see live film of where he is - tonight he visits, Two days crossing the Nullarbor Plain - Kalgoorlie, visiting a drive through brothel, Delicacies in Esperance, including sheeps brains, and pigs nipples, and visits dolphins in Bunbury,

Should be good........Will I spot Allan?

lol, Linda

Berona, the Building Codes are applied nationally and are very up to date particularly with respect to energy provisions: for example you are no longer allowed to fit electric water heaters to new houses

Food legislation is now also national WA's new Food Act and regulations were finally gazetted last friday. WA was the last State to adopt the Food Code in its entirety

BUT WA's Health Act is still the 1911 version and well out of touch with current issues

Tec, I'm getting a sense of Dejavu

I was at a conference in Fremantle a few years ago and I was talking to one of the presenters. This chap, who was a pommie, had spent his early years in the merchant navy and was tellin me that when he had last visited Fremantle, he remembered the Esplanade Hotel having a hitching post outside it and there was straw inside the pub. The Esplanade was where the Conference was being held

The Esplanade Hotel is now a five star and one of the best, in my opinion,
in the Perth/Freo area.

We still have hitching posts in the South Island - outside the pubs in the countryside how else are they going to come in from mustering and park their horse so they can have a drink.
I would've thought you would have had one for tethering your horse after rounding up the llamas Tec.

You can always put your marmalade sandwiches under your hat Allan, then you can doff your beanie when you encounter a friendly bin.

My grandmother was a Turnbull, I have no idea of her parents birthdates etc I know they ended up in NSW. They are the only branch of my family that I cannot get a grip on.

Slices of pineapple with a sprinkling of castor sugar - slightly browned on the Barbie are delish.

I had all-electric in my previous house - gas didn't become available for a few years after it was built, so I never had it connected.

I have gas-heated water where I am now and it takes ages to come through initially. Not at all funny in the shower on a cold winter's morning!

Hi Berona

Did not see you there, you must've been showering whilst I was typing.

Good morning Persephone, I may try that pineapple treat

Berona, don't you let the water run till it heats up? You can catch the first run of cold water in a bucket and use it in the garden

I would like to stay and chat, but I have things to do and must bid the treadmill good morning first. My knees are getting stiffer and need to be exercised - reminding me that I will be 39 tomorrow!

Oh yes, Perse - I let it run but I had to change my routine. Instead of undress, step in, turn on - it's now turn on, clean my teeth, then think about undressing!

Tecwyn Report 26 Oct 2009 22:52

Allan, Yes I remember the Esplanade Hotel in Freemanlte, it reminded me so much of the pub that was always used in the Flying Doctor tv series.

Talking of hotels, Persephone is there a hotel in Aukland called the Great Northern, is it still there? and yes I have got a hitching post for my horse, and my donkey

Allan, I'll be looking out for you in moment on tv.
will I spot you in Kalgoorlie, Esperance, or Bunbury,?

Good night/morning all.
Allan - the secret is in having no mirrors - you use your imagination - and mine can be quite wild at times!
