Hello all :-))
Diane... I totally understand the reason you cannot just up and leave the family you work for to take a break, it just shows me you are a very kind hearted person, even though you desperately need a break.. Bless you hun!!
Well... I have just been sooo flat out for the last two days, my next door neighbor told me this morning that I should put a taxi sign on my car! She has never in all her life seen anybody drive around as much as I do!!!!
At the moment.. we are trying to get our 18 year old son into some sort of employment, its like trying to extract teeth..he seems to think that he is going to spend the rest of his life dependent on us!! He has been at home since the end of last year, when he'd finished year 12/VCE. My OH has found him employment, ($65 an hour!) which our son is not at all happy about, there were 150 people that applied for the position that he got!! We had given him the option of either going back to School/Uni or decide on a career, he cannot decide..so we have decided for him. Its really terrible as my OH feels so bad, as he is having to play bad cop..I'm the good guy:-)) Its all good, I'm positive it will all work out...
Hello to.... Ali, Sue, Berona, Janet, Barbra, Linda, Big Al, Tec and Colin :-)) Hello to anybody else who drops in:-))))
Stay beautiful!!
Hopefully I will catch up with you all over the weekend :-)))

hello Everyone!!
Ali...I haven't opened my Bewitched dvds as yet...Glad you are enjoying watching the series again. I am watching Jonathon Creek at the moment and he did have a show on the other night but dear me fell asleep in the middle of it ( must have been a great show !)
Carole...I am not looking forward to the whole leaving school sag with my boys...The eldest is unsure of what he wants to do and one day he is leaving school the next he is staying...drives be crazy!! like you I am the taxi driver in the family and the car doesn't stop plus I am driving most days visiting clients as I work for an elderly/disabled support business. For $65 a week should II send one of mine over...:))
Diane I do hope that you have had some news on a break for yourself..
Hope everyone is enjoying their day and the Brits still in the land of slumber are sleeping well..
Tec...Hope MRs Tec is feeling better..

Well - we have had a hot day here and it's still hot at 6pm, but the lovely clear blue sky is now covered by cloud - so maybe we'll get that thunder storm yet! I suppose we will, now that I have watered the plants!

Good evening to Berona and any other Eastern Staters who may be on line
Good morning to any Brits, and a good afternoon to any in the West of Oz
Well, there is one happy lassie in the Shire of Dardanup, her appraisal went very well!
I still think that the arrangement was strange but everyone seems happy with it, so who am i to argue!

I knew you would come up with a good appraisal. You had already told us previously that the young lady was good so she deserved it and I'm quite sure you feel good about it.
Haven't heard from Sue yet. She might be having a well-earned rest.

Hello everyone:-))
I'm amazed it's so hot where you are Berona. It's been very pleasant here. In fact the breeze is a little chilly.
Grandparents are now off duty. Daughter back home safe and sound - brown, rested and very happy to see the children. We've all been spoilt rotten with lovely gifts- including season 4 of Dr Who:-)) I have to say we are glad to be back home and to sleep in our own bed tonight but I'm missing the little ones already. We'll probably see them on Monday anyway.
Diane - here I am complaining about being tired and you must be exhausted. I admire your devotion to your client. You are obviously a very dedicated person and I would never tell you that you should just leave them to it.

Good afternoon everyone. It is a lovely autumnal day here. I delivered Meals on Wheels today, beef stew and dumplings followed by apple crumble and custard. OH then met me in town and we went for lunch, which I am glad to say was nicer than the stuff I had just delivered. I was supposed to be doing H***** W*** this afternoon, but got side tracked by looking on the old on-line newspapers for trial reports, just to help someone out, yet another Australian convict.
I guess the house won't clean itself,so off I go. Send out a search party if I am still playing at Mrs Scrubitt in a few hours.

Good Morning/Evening,
Been a lovely day here too, but there's a storm brewing out at sea, so it's going to be a rough night, time to batten down the hatches. Because it's going to be so rough, I decided to pick the last of the summer roses from the garden. Surprised they still have such a powerful smell. Linda I hope you have taken off the marigolds and put your feet up. I have just poured myself a large G&T with ice and lemon. Anyone care to join me? although it may be a little early for our Aussie friends.

Good morning Tec, Hope you and the Duchess are feeling good! We didn't get that thunder storm - just clouds. Today, not much sun as yet, but possibly another very warm to hot day.
Didn't get around to answering your earlier question on roses. Sorry, I forgot that "dead-heading" is a term used in rose pruning. I pruned my roses in July. What I meant this time was that they have had their first flush of Spring blooms (very nice, too) but I didn't cut them to put them in a vase, so they died on the bush and needed to be 'tidied'.

Good Morning Berona, Gosh, you're up eary today. We're ok thanks, OH had a disturbed night, but slept a lot today. I went to do a big shop at the supermarket, then fiddled about in the garden. Did some harsh pruning on the shrub roses, they had made too much growth over two years and had gone quite woody. Being on the coast we get hardly any frost, so things tend to bloom much later than inland. Your roses obviously flower quite early in Spring.

Hello, everyone:-))
A large G&T, Tec? For breakfast? Thank you for the offer but I think I'll have coffee instead.
Won't be on for long this morning as I have to catch up on the h----w--k. Although my son kept the place tidy and his dishes washed he was hardly going to dust etc. So I need to catch up and do some grocery shopping. Luckily our local supermarket opens very early so I'll be able to do that first.

Not early here Tec. Nearly 8am now. I've been up since before 7. I'm a 'morning' person. I like to get everything done before lunch time - at home, I get it all done by 9am if possible (except when I get caught up talking on a Chat board!), then if I need to go out shopping or appointments - I always arrange to be back before lunch. If any of this doesn't get done by lunch time - it doesn't get done!
How is the duchess now that she has had some sleep? Feeling better for it, I hope.

Good Morning Sue, Don't over do it with the hxxxxWxxk, it's bad for your health. Good idea to visit supermarket early while not busy - I live in fear in supermarkets of little old ladies who will ram my ankles with their trolley, then smile a sweet apology at you.
