Good Evening Linda, Diane, Barbra,

Linda....... Hi Super Sleuth, I could have told you it was Barbra, saved you all that back tracking. I too have been wondering how Berona got on with her difficult task. I hope her lady turned up, and something resolved.

Diane....... Hope you had more of a rest today.

Barbra.......... In answer to your question, yes people still have coal fires here, though many have wood burning stoves. There is no mains gas in this village, but I have an LPG tank, and have gas central heating. We do have two open fireplaces that still function. I like to have a real fire occassionally in the winter evenings.

Hello all (now becoming too may for my addled brain to remember)

Well done on the detective work, but it proves how we skim through the posts as Barbra did say yesterday that it was her who referred to howard and Marina.

I think that it was shortly after you reposted the link, Linda.

I hope that Berona did not have too dificult a time yesterday.

Well after the one hot day on Saturday now back to strong winds...but at least it is pleasantly cool.

Good evening Allan, I am sure that your brain isn't addled, tha tis my prerogative these days

Do you think that Berona has been taken hostage by her neighbour?

Allan

Allan Report 18 Oct 2009 22:31

Good evening Linda.

Too much red wine! I really did enjoy the pictures on the link but Howard and Marinamust have been after my time in the UK, I have no recollection of them at all.

And I wouldn't know what colour hair 'my' young lady has as she wears a baseball cap :0))

Allan Report 18 Oct 2009 22:40

The ones I like have no labels! Usually sold as Cleanskins but come from the Margaret River region.

You can add $20.00 to the price of a labelled bottle if it comes from the Magical Margeret River area..vastly overpriced and overrated.

I usually buy cask wine but find it too drinkable Hic!

No labels? We call that paint stripper here.

The yellow label Wolf Blass is fairly pricey here, but I like the cab sav,so I look for it on special offer then but a load. Not that I am an alcoholic you understand, we usually only have a couple of bottles a week. Most days I don't drink at all. well only water or coffee

Berona

Berona Report 18 Oct 2009 22:45

No, I havent' been taken hostage - but after talking to her yesterday, I did hit the Panadol!
Do you know what it's like to talk to someone who thinks they know YOUR language, and yet, you can't understand what they are saying? and as if the pronunciation isn't bad enough - the past, present and future tenses get all mixed up?....hence the Panadol!

I think I managed to get through to her that legal action is imminent if she doesn't pay something very soon and pay something regularly to get up to date. I really don't think she can afford to keep that house and my heart goes out to her, but I will only be reporting back that she intends to try and hope that they hold off and give her a little more time.

We talked about a lot of things - again with her using her twisted grammar - for instance - she had told me she was an only child - also, she has never been married - and yet, she spoke of her brother-in-law in New Zealand. I can't remember what she said about him - I was trailing behind trying to work out how she could have no sister and never married, yet have a brother in law? This is just typical of how I spent more than two hours trying to keep up with her.
