Well, as weather elsewhere
Very wet and windy last week. Yesterday the forecast was for fine weather for the next week.....and last night the wind and rain were back.
We can't complain, as it is winter and the rain is desperately needed, particularly inland

It was a nice day here - warm 20c - sunny.......
Although some parts of UK have had torrential rain for days on and off.
Well - off up the wooden hill now - nearly midnight

Good morning Allan:)) Hasn't this become a nice thread? Lots of people enjoying a joke and a chat - I love it.
The day is shaping up very nicely. Blue skies the sun shining and not much to do for the day. Grandkids visiting for a couple of hours this afternoon so if it stays nice they can play outside which they enjoy. We'll feed the birds which they love and they enjoy helping in the garden so we might do some weeding - with supervision.

Morning/Evening everyone.
Hello Teowyn. Welcome to the thread. Just want to clear up something. You say you feed two cats and don't know whose they are? If you feed them, they're yours! Just try getting rid of them if you don't believe me! I have had cats all of my life and that's how I got most of them.
We are having nice weather here too. We had it up to 23 a few days ago, and a promise of 17 to-day - but it's Winter here. Sun still shining - with rain forecast a few times, but it hasn't happened yet.

I think Tec's going to be a lot of fun:)) Hi Berona nice to see you again - have you been busy?
I've just waved the grandkids off - lovely visit but I'm exhausted. Luckily I don't having any cleaning up to do as my daughter insists they clean up before they go.
The weather has been glorious today - cool but sunny. Not a cloud in the sky.
Hope you all have a pleasant evening and our Brit friends have a wonderful Saturday.

Good Evening Aussies Good Morning Brits,
Lovely day here - warm - blue sky - white fluffy clouds.
Hi Berona.........Those cats that visit me must be living a double life. They turn up more or less together, eat their food, hang around only a little while, then disappear again 'till next day. They can't be strays, as they are in good condition. They treat my black labrador with contempt. I know how he feels, my OH feeds me, then treats me with contempt - but I won't go away. I think those cats are off one of the farms.
Well....I'm off to get a haircut before the sheep shearers catch me, so enjoy your evening down there - have a good day up here.
Regards Tec.

Tec, on a trip to the UK last year we drove down the west coast, visited Chester and then sort of drifted into Wales. We stayed at a bed and breakfast in Flint called Mountain View - a golf resort. It was raining when we got there but the next morning was glorious so we kept going along the north coast through Colwyn Bay, Rhos on Sea, Llandudno and onto Conwy and the wonderful castle. We stayed in Bangor that night and the next morning thought we would double back and drive down "this road" that someone had mentioned and visit a little place called Betws-y-coed. We went through the most breathtaking places we have ever seen and stood in the cold and rain totally awestruck at the mountains and lakes made all the more beautiful in the mist. I should imagine it's beautiful in the sunshine but it was equally beautiful in the rain - very moody. Beyws-y-coed is a lovely place too. We then drove on for miles and miles back into England. Sometimes the impulsive and unexpected trips are the best - it was certainly one the highlights of our trip. And that evening we met Uggers:))

Good whatever time it is all
Popped on a lot earlier than normal, but it is Saturday!
Could be me coming down with something, but I've been cold all day. Even the a/c hasn't made any difference.
Cats back from the Vets ok but they are not talking to my daughter! Methinks that they have taken the hump about their vaccinations!
On the plus side, I am now flavour of the moment with them!
Regards
Allan

I thought the loveliest place was Conwy with it's castle. The place has such a nice atmosphere. We also like Prestatyn and Rhyl. We'll go back and travel around Wales again at a slower pace. A few years ago we also went to Abergavenny for no other reason than we love the name - and the song. It's also a nice town but it was really warm and the place we stayed in only had a small window which wouldn't open. It was too hot to sleep!!
By the way Mummo, what are your credentials for coming on this Aussie thread? You're most welcome but you must have some connection however small. Did your neighbour's wife's brother in law's uncle's friend's cousin's aunty migrate there over the last 100 years. That'll get you in:)))

Good evening, Allan. Cats are funny creatures - my daughter's cat can be very haughty. When we have to leave our little dog at the kennels - not often I'm pleased to say - she goes crazy when we pick her up and then when we get home she ignores us for the rest of the day. That is until dinner time and then she's friends again:))
I do hope you're not coming down with something - hopefully you'll feel better in the morning. Perhaps it's all that walking at crazy times of the day - it can't be good for you:)) Enjoy your Sunday.

Morning everyone.... well, good whatever if you are in Oz.... hope you are all sleeping the sleep of innocent babies... that is if you should be sleeping.
NOT if you are supposed to be flying a plane, or driving a truck or train... sleeping then would not be such a good idea. I wouldn't have thought.
The sun is shining... I am off to buy some stuff.... anything will do, just have to have a shopping fix, as I am getting jittery....
then I shall laze in the garden, and watch hubby attack all those weeds and stuff!!
Hi Tec.... I'm down in the South.... on a very flat bit... well, reclaimed marshland, actually, and slightly below sea level!!
Have a wonderful day, everyone, whatever you are doing.
Now, where did I put the slavedriver's whip... it was around here somewhere!!
Love
Daff xxxx

Hi All,
being from Manchester originally, I have spent a lot of time in North Wales, particularly in the Conwy region. A most beautiful part of the UK. I have may happy memories of times spent there in various Caravn Parks.
Also remember the tunnel on the road to Canarvon, where it used to be a tradition to blow the car horn all the way through

Hi Folks......... Wel I had the haircut......rather draughty around the ears.
Sue......The area you mentioned is my home ground. The road from Bangor is the A5, it is beautiful passing through the mountains and lakes down to Betws-y-Coed. We use that route about once a fortnight, as Llandudno and Bangor are our nearest shopping areas. It is lovely in the summer, but also in the winter when the mountains are covered in snow.Conway Castle is good, but I prefer Harlech Castle which is more atmospheric and original. I live on Cardigan Bay, looking across at the Llyn Peninsular - the view I like most of all is in winter on a clear day, you look across the bay and see the snow covered mountains of Snowdonia in the background. Reminds me always of a view I once saw in New Zealand.
Hi Mummo...........I used to go to Prestatyn frequently, but have not been for a while now.
Hi Daf....... and Linda, Hope you enjoyed your retail therapy - only one shop in this village, so not much therapy to have for my OH.
Hi Allan...........I remember the old tunnel at Penmaenmawr through to Llanfairfechan - you wouldn't recognise it now, they have blasted a new tunnel through the rock - very impressive and well lit.
Well my garden is screaming for attention, so I'm off to do some work.
Regards Tec.

Hi all,
I don't want to rain on Janet's parade but rally overcast here 178 kms further South. Also cold considering the cloud cover...but that could just be me. I'm still not feeling the best and have felt cold all week.
I wimped out of my walk this morning, although did walk to the Roadhouse to buy the paper
Tec , you brought back many childhood memories with the places you have mentioned. I drank my first ever half pint of bitter in Conway when I was 16 (illegal) and I was with my parents.

Sue Maid Hi~~ You mentioned Abergavenny. it's just 8 miles from me, and where my last living aunt aged 89 lives ( Mother's sister so she's like a mother to me now ). She's marvellous for her age. Has all her marbles, does all her own housework ( put's mine to shame!)uses the tread mill every day and eats very sensibly. Her hubby died 2 yrs ago, the only thing she cannot manage is to sleep alone at night:( She has 2 daughters who live within a mile of her so the take it in turns to stay with her, and if for some reason they are away at the same time her son(lives 10 miles away) stays. Although it was warm when you stayed there I hope you enjoyed it, it is a lovely market town with great character.
Tecwyn Although I'm from South Wales my b i l has lived in North Wales for over 30 yrs. Groeslon, near Caernafon, Bangor, Wrexham and is now on Anglesey at Llanfair PG, so over the years we have got to know the area very well: Yes the tunnel at Penmaenmawr is quite impressive, there is another one on that road just coming into Colwyn Bay I believe ( haven't got my map handy ) We were up there 3 weeks ago, mostly sightseeing where we hadn't been before, Puffin Island, the actual church at Llanfair PG, Nelson's column/monument on the Menai Straits, and saw the Lions under the Britannia Bridge. Have done the Lyn Peninsular , Snowdonia, Harlech, Conwy, Bettws a coed, Llandudno, Rhyl as well as all the places around where bil lived. Such a lovely area, almost as good as where I live.lol in the Brecon Beacon Park :))
Best wishes Sandie.x
