Good Morning/Afternoon Everyone, Just a quickie, But I wanted to say well done to you Sue, sounds as though the interview went really well - you are a star - nay, a SuperStar.
Saw the red dust storm, also good coverage on BBC News. How incredible. One thing though, where did all those big roads in Sydney come from?
Susan with numbers, ...........I see you posted as I went off last night, sorry I didn't see you. Thanks you for your offer. No I haven't got the shipping details of my ancestors to Utah. I will dig out names and dates, and let you know. That would be so interesting.
Carole.....Good luck to your son for his driving test.
Catch you all later
Tec.

Good morning/evening everyone:-)
I'm feeling very sad this morning having heard some bad news about a dear friend and member of GR - Jean Durant. I had the pleasure of meeting Jean last year and we spent a lovely afternoon together at her friend Maz's house. I feel helpless not being close enough to give her anything that may make her life easier. You wonder at times why these things happen to the best of people.
The morning is much clearer than yesterday and the wild winds appear to have dropped. Now starts the clean-up. Everything looks dull - even the grass. I'm thinking about all the water we will have to use to clean outside the house. Hopefully we can keep water usage to a minimum but the dust seems resistant to brushing.
We haven't seen Linda for awhile so I hope all is well. Thinking of you too Diane who has sent a message to say hello to all.

Heard about and saw pictures of your 'Red Dust storm'...what was all that about then?
I wish you could come for a visit Suemaid and go see your friends...I am sure they would love to see you.....I can put you up and you can base yourself here...all you will then need is the air fare.

How very kind of you Susan - unfortunately I just can't do it at the moment:( I appreciate your offer more than I can tell you. Thank you xxx
The dust storm came from the west - our infamous "Outback" hence the red dust. Everything is so dry at the moment. It is much clearer this morning but I think Queensland - up north - is getting it today.

Hi Susan with numbers........
The following people emigrated to the town of Bountiful, Utah, USA. They were the six children of Samuel Thurgood b. 1797 at Camberwell Surrey England. All six siblings were born in Camberwell - the father Samuel appears not to have emigrated. I do not know if the six emigrated together on the same ship, or separately.
Thomas Thurgood b. 1835 - d. 1898 Syracuse,Davis County, Utah William " b. 1836 - d. 1882 Bountiful, Davis County Utah Samuel " b. 1837 - d. 1897 Provo, Utah John " b. 1840 - d. 1893 Bountiful, Davis County Utah Elizabeth " b. 1842 - d. 1927 Salt Lake City Utah Sarah " b. 1845 - d. 1904 Salt Lake City Utah
I found photo's of the graves of some of the above at - http://lofthouse.com/davis/Bountiful/cemetery/index.html
It would be very interesting if it were possible to find out when they emigrated. Thankyou so much for any help you can give,
Regards Tec.

Good morning/evening every one
Congratulations on the interviews Sue, Star of big screen, small screen and radio. We look forward to the link.
Here in the West we have totally the opposite problem to you Eastern Staters...it has been one of the wettest start to spring in years, although we are still down on total rainfall. The farming community will be happy,
Hi to Allison, Berona, Carole, Persephone, Susan with numbers and Tec. (Trying to place the names in alphabetical order...I also make sure all the edges of my papers line up!)

Good Morning Sue, and Susan with numbers.
SO sorry Sue that you've had bad news about your friend Jean. Like you, I have often wondered how it is that misfortune seems to strike the very nicest people. I wondered if you would be affected by water restrictions in trying to clear up the mess of the dust - what a job that must be.
Susan with numbers...... I hope I haven't set you too much of a task, I wouldn't want to take advantage of your kindness, But will be so grateful for anything you may discover - thank you.
Tec.

Good morning Allan and Tec. I am a star, Allan. However I can promise you that it won't change me - I will remain the same pain in the backside I've always been:-))
Our clean-up won't be bad, Tec. Just a good hosing down will do the trick. The windows are filthy and the window sills. The floors are dusty because it's impossible not to walk the dust in. Some large buildings including the University I visited yesterday are quite modern in that they have large windows so I think the clean up of these buildings will be a huge job. I don't even want to think about Sydney city.

Good morning everyone! A special good morning to our superstar!
A good downpour of rain would be good right now - but not forecast - so it looks like we use our hoses. They are allowed at the moment, but after the winter we just (nearly) had, the restrictions will soon be on us again.
My son came last week and brought his pressure spray. After weeding around the edges where weeds were poking in from neighbour's property, he sprayed the area, then decided to leave the pressure spraying until next week, to give the spray a chance to take effect. I'm so glad he did now, or it would have needed to be done again!
So nice to-day, to wake up to a clear blue sky and normal sunshine - no wind and a forecast of 25. That's how I like it! If only we could have every day like this - with the amount of rain we need happening when we are asleep!

Good evening Tec and Susan with numbers
Tec I went for my walk but no moonlight (a) it was very overcast with the occasional light shower and (b) we have only just had a new moon. The first quarter is later this week, so at the moment I am still mistaking wheelie bins for people and wishing them a good morning....I never seem to get a response, however!
Sue I saw Uggers thread re Jean..how terribly sad

Hi Sue, Good to see you. xx
I had an operation about 18 months ago to remove a tumour and had a skin graft so I have to be careful. I bent down to pick something up off the ground and somehow managed to catch it on the edge of the drain lid. lol
I am extremely clumsy........

I met Jean last year as I have said. She is one of those very special people who make a place in your heart the minute you meet them - and that place stays in your heart. My OH fell in love with her too and he is normally a quiet man who takes his time getting to know someone. She has battled cancer bravely for a long time so this is just one more blow. Her attitude is incredible.
