Not weird Allan - I think I will be the same. The thing is it will be so valuable to us so I have to keep that in mind. Apparently we were given some media time a couple of years ago and we were flooded with people applying for membership and organisations who were happy to give us a donation. |

Yes, Linda. I did do a lot of knitting in the past. My Mum didn't like knitting but loved sewing - so she taught me to knit and I made my own sweaters and cardigans from when I was eight years old. I tried my hand at sewing, but Mum usually finished everything off for me. |

Tec, too late; the halo slipped and is now around my neck getting ready to choke me...I knew that I shouldn't have tempted Fate! |

A lot of young mothers don't want hand-knitted garments for their babies. They don't have time to handwash anymore. I have always loved sewing and a lot of different crafts and handwork such as patchwork and quilting. I have never been a knitter. I remember my mother sitting up till all hours sewing and then at Christmas presenting my sister and I with dolls and a whole wardrobe of outfits. I was using mum's sewing machine from an early age and in my teens would often spend Saturday morning cutting out and sewing an outfit for a night out. |

Ah, Tec. IVF is a dangerous business. That's how we have our twin grandchildren:-))) |

That's great news Tec. At least, I HOPE it's great news. After all that waiting - to get three at once. Of course, it will be a LOT of work for a long while, but I'm sure it will be worth it over and over. Tell them congratulations! |

I am naturally pleased for them, but I gather they were somewhat shell shocked at the prospect at first, but have now accepted it philosophically (sp) all those nappies - imagine if it was still the old terry towelling ones. |

It's lovely news Tec and I wish them much happiness with their 3 little ones. I have to say that our twins have brought us great joy. When we found out I couldn't stop smiling with pleasure but my daughter looked shell-shocked for awhile. |

I think the thought of coping with three at once is daunting, what if they all start yowling in the middle of the night. |

Even a grandma becomes adept at picking up two babies at once. A lot of very hard work, endless washing and feeding and sleepless nights but it doesn't last forever and I have to say the twins bring a lot of joy to our lives. To be honest we almost don't see them as twins. They are boy and girl therefore not identical. Totally different in personality and physical appearance. |

Strange how twins can be so different, a young friend of ours has twin boys. Different in appearence and nature. One is very blonde, the other ginger/red hair. One is very forward and up front, the other very shy, and clings to his mum. |

Well, I'm off now to run around the estate with the dog before bed. |
